davieG Posted 19 May 2010 Author Posted 19 May 2010 Wow. They've gone up a hell of alot!! Renewed mine at £365, now standing £430. Some increase. A foretaste of next season whether we go up or not
red5 Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Wow. They've gone up a hell of alot!! Renewed mine at £365, now standing £430. Some increase. Well that's decided it for me, I'll not be getting one, I'd pay a small increase over the earlybird price but not that much, if we were in the prem then yes you deserve the saving and I would pay the higher amount. I'm not paying £65 more than what someone else has paid for the same thing.
Maybes Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 A foretaste of next season whether we go up or not So it seems. Like Red 5 states, if we'd have gained promotion I could understand a large increase.
Dr The Singh Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Glad i've got my ticket for next season prior to the hike. If prices remain or increase, I may struggle to purchase next season!
C-man Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Wonder how much they would have increased if we had gone up, £100ish?
davieG Posted 19 May 2010 Author Posted 19 May 2010 Glad i've got my ticket for next season prior to the hike. If prices remain or increase, I may struggle to purchase next season! Something I've always said about getting promoted it maybe good for the Club (Mandaric) but it would probably put an end to my attendance. It's criminal how so much money has come into the game but little if any has gone towards keeping the costs down for fans and when you compare the TV revenues with gate receipts it's really hard to justify because they become almost insignificant.
Shrenchel Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 In the Premier League though ST become a much smaller part of the club's revenue. I'm not even sure it would have increased by much more than what is has done if we'd gone up. Our prices now must be as expensive or more so than about 10 of the clubs in the Premiership. Shit clubs like Blackburn adult season tickets are like £200.

Shrenchel Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Aye, Wigan and Bolton are cheap as biscuits too. Fulham as well. Was at Paddington last week and there were adverts for their season tickets, £280 or something like that. Ridiculous that they're having to advertise and put their prices so low to fill their cattle shed after the season they've had.

Ridiculous that they're having to advertise and put their prices so low to fill their cattle shed after the season they've had. I always see the Fulham prices at my local station too. I went and had a look and they have two tiny sections of the ground where it's £285 (I think they've put it up since their European tour) and then the next cheapest is £399. Costs £549 if you want to be in the centre of the stand behind the goal. Their prices go up to £899. I was going to use them as an example of cheap Prem season tickets when I saw your post about Blackburn but then had a gander and realised their cheeky marketing
Guest Bilo Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 There's an increase and there's a hike, no prizes for guessing what category this falls into. I feel for the people who weren't fortunate enough to be able to buy a ST before the Early Bird deadline I really do.
AndyBrew Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 don't think I'll bother at £1,000 for me the mrs and lad I'll just have to pick and choose the games again
red5 Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Looks like I'll be listening to the radio for free. But then I couldn't even post in here........ Martin O’Neill’s famous quote “Football is all about those who play and those who pay.”
samlcfc Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Didnt get one last season as any one that wouldve got one with me went to Uni. Still ended up going to almost every home game though so ill most likely get one for next season. Plus seeing as im a student earning a load but not actually paying for much due to living with parents I can afford it . Probablty get one in L if possible, K if not.
Lichfieldfox. Posted 20 May 2010 Posted 20 May 2010 No surprise on back of a 6 million loss in year to 31st May '09. 20 million loss in 2 years + cash injection 10 million from Milan means have to put prices up. Harsh but success costs money and the fans will pay because fans do.
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 20 May 2010 Posted 20 May 2010 Just bought my first ever ST. I was just looking for the 'like' button there when I realised where I was

It could be worse - why not do a Barça, buy a shitload of great football talented and then come up with an astounding debt of 489 million Euros approx? Who wouldn't be in their shoes...
