Leicester City has announced its match ticket pricing structure for the 2010-2011 season, following the release of the npower Championship fixtures.

Match-by-match tickets will once again be divided into two price categories, 'Platinum' and 'Gold'.

Matches against local rivals Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Coventry City will all be graded as Platinum fixtures, with a further three home fixtures against Middlesbrough, Leeds United and Ipswich Town making up the list of six matches that will have Platinum status.

Match tickets for all Gold fixtures start from just £21 adults, £16 over 60's and £11 under 22's. Platinum fixtures start from just £28 adults, £23 over 60'swith a price freeze in place on all under 18's, under 12's and under 8's tickets.

Match ticket prices for Platinum fixtures will start from £28 for adults, £23 over 60's, £18 under 22's and under 18's with under 12's for £8.

With all tickets purchased in person on the day of the match, a charge of £2 will apply across all age ranges.

Purchasing in advance will not only guarantee your seat for the big games but also eliminate excessive queuing times at both the ticket office and at the turnstiles, and avoid supporters missing the start of a game.

Platinum and Gold? Piss off.

Can't we have a full range of metals to include Copper, Zinc and Rusty Iron?

Would the game against S****horpe be a rusty iron fixture?

I'll get my coat.

It says £26 in the kop for a gold fixture is this on the gate price or do we add £2 to make it £28 ? If is is £28 it is a total rip off to watch championship football £26 is bad enough. Why charge £2 more for paying on the day ? don't they want people to just turn up on the fly.

I have to agree with this, it`s high time football woke up and realised it`s pricing itself out of the market, bet we`re not the most expensive either !

You can watch top flight football in Germany/Spain/Italy for less than £20 a game less than £15 in some places with top class players on show. Here you get league2 for the same prices we are suckers & the clubs play on it.

As a student it is noe getting to the stage where it is too expensive to go and watch a football game. Football should never be in a position where that is the case. There is too much money in the game and its the fans that bare the brunt of it.

It's £10 to watch Blue Square North which is effectively division 6 with semi pro players, simiar prices to some Bundesliga clubs in Germany's top flight where you will see international players !

I think it should be £20 maximum for championship clubs & wages for players capped to something more sustainable for the clubs like £5000 per week max. If a championship player can't live on a quarter of a million a season or around 150k after tax then they need to get in the real world anyway.Average players who are not even close to being internationals are on £1m a season which is ridiculous playing for championship clubs & the fans are being fleeced to try & cover it.

I know pro football is a short career but if you can get 150k a year take home you would only need to do less than 10 years work to earn more than the average salary for someone who does 50 years work ! After you retire at 35 say what is to stop you still earning more cash coaching/managing/commentating or anything else for that matter, you don't have to earn enough to sit on your a*** for 30 years until you get your state pension, you can still do something else instead of lazing around your mock tudor mansions !

This is why footballers are so far detached from the fans watching the game nowadays, they seem to think they have a god given right to earn a fortune for doing what they supposedly love & why more & more players from the premiership now quit at 33 filthy rich with no need to drop down the leagues like in years gone by.

Indeed it is, cannot see myself getting to hardly any games at all this season unfortunately. Just can't afford to be paying these prices.

I don't think i'll be able to get to half as many as last year now. Now i'm 16, train tickets are more expensive for me so i'll be paying £20-£30 just for the train and now £18 on top of that for platinum games. So i could be paying £48 each time i go to a 'platinum' game. It's almost like they want to stop people from going

They want/wanted people to buy STs unfortunately this takes no account of the 'casual' fans who have legitimate reasons for not be able to attend every or most games to make it financially worth their while so they are excluded from attending all but the most important games but then have to suffer being called fair weather fans.

Pretty much sums me up. I'd happily get a season ticket if I could get to more games, but other commitments and ever-rising fuel costs (with a 240 mile round trip) make this impossible so getting a season ticket is pointless. However, I do enjoy getting to as many games - home and away - as I feasibly can but the hike in ticket prices will certainly make me think twice and pick and choose games carefully. The club seem to be alienating fans who aren't local more and more, imo.

Exactly the same situation as me but i might think about getting a ST if those games alone would cost £108 and i can get a ST for £155. Only problem with doing that is that i'll miss any tuesday night matches, train travel is more expensive now i'm 16, and i can't book the train tickets a bit cheaper in advance because you never know when SKY are going to but in and change the dates. :S

Watson its easy to blag an U15 mate dont worry about that. And go for the season ticket, then use the seat exchange thingy to take mates to games instead of the ones you cant go too?

Of course they don't. If everyone bought tickets before the game the club would have a better idea of how much staff/police presence etc. is needed. Hence the incentives for getting the ticket before the day.

Get a Young Person's Railcard. Also, I bet if you booked all tickets in advance, then the amount you save would be more than you lose from the odd occasion when Sky chance the kick-off. Also, they usually announce it a few weeks in advance at least, so you can still get your tickets for cheaper

This is exactly the situation I find myself in. For the last 6 years various reasons have stopped me attending games regularly, first a sporting commitment now work. Yet under these prices it's unlikely I'll be able to get to many games when I do get a Saturday off or there's a midweek game as I simply won't be able to afford it. It's a joke.

I didn't realise that someone could fist so many people at the same time before but MM always manages to amaze me.

I'm glad I'm in a position (both geographically and financially) to have a Season Ticket this time round. Otherwise I doubt very much I'd be willing to pay those prices for more than three or four games.

If the pricing policy drives away all those fuktards who don't know the names of half the team then I am a fan.

It will also make it easier to get a hot chocolate at half time.
