You'll be run off the forum by the 'calm down police' with posts like that but I agree with you completely.

£75k is a ridiculous wage, apart from the odd bit of charity work and 10 minutes at half-time once a fortnight, what does this guy do to warrant such an obscene wage? Got nothing against the bloke whatsoever, but it seems a big waste of money to me.

And I can't tell whether some of the reactions in this thread are serious or sarcastic. If they are serious, then I'm very worried about some people.

Falling to pieces because we're getting rid of our half-time entertainment? :D

Pearson has obviously fallen out with Mandaric/Lee Hoos

Obviously Mandaric isn't in the country. So Lee Hoos must of done the deed? Lee Hoos also let Pearson speak to Hull. Not Mandaric.

If this is true and it would seem to be the case, then this news is absolutely shocking! Ok, his salary seems to be over inflated, but that's easily overcome. Can't believe Madaric and Hoos could be so spineless as to sack an old man whose job clearly means the world to him, whilst retaining the services of several over paid players on far larger salaries than 'The Birch'. If this is true, good luck in your retirement 'Birch', thank you for commitment and service to both the club and your charities, and God Bless!

What do you suggest, flog the likes of Hobbs, Morrison, Fryatt, King.......just so we can keep the Birch? I'm sorry but it wasn't the Birch and his half-time whimsy that got us to the play-offs.

I wasn't implying we get rid of our star players, quite the opposite. It just seems odd that Mandaric and Hoos have an issue paying 'The Birch' what seems in thecontext of the business a paltry sum, whilst happily paying the wages of players such as DJ Campbell, Yann Kermorgant, etc vast sums on a weekly basis to negatively contribute towards the clubs achievements. Don't get me wrong I'm personally not a big Birch fan and do think he is definitely over paid but I also believe he has served the club well over the years and is part of the fixtures and fittings around the place.

Apparently Pearson asked Birch what he was on a year, Birch told him and Pearson replied 'that's ridiculous'. Pearson then told him to and demand more money from MM, and he told him to bugger off. MM then asked who told him to do this, but Pearson had fooked off by then, so there was no-one to blame!

So. Birch cant blame Pearson for Birch asking MM for a pay rise. That sucks!

Still redundancy pay would be good at his age.

Many of us want Mandaric out ;)

Didn't we used to play in Red?

Anyone up for wearing Blue and Red Scarves (Like man utd) as a protest towards the running of the club?

That's like suggesting we keep the warm up main and get rid of the mainline act in some top TV or Stage show, not forgetting that you can't just 'get rid' of players especially over paid ones as they have short term contracts and would need to be paid up in full - so no gain there then.

Taken from Bentleys Roof

Next week or three should be interesting!!...

Pearson disappearing, (obviously for a reason beyond our current understanding), 'Birch' sacked! Two possible scenarios here in my eyes!

1): MOF trying to make the club's weekly/monthly liabilities look more acceptable to a 'prospective' buyer!

2): MOF trying to trim the budgets prior to calling in an administrator!

Personally think option '2' is nailed on. We've all been fed bullshit again, and the truth is that failure to gain promotion means LCFC has again reached the financial end of the road!

Now why'd you have to go and post something like that? :(

True. I know if you put 2 and 2 together you can get whatever you want but thinking about it, this is all very worrying indeed.

It's too late to plant worry like this on me.

I was told on Saturday that Birchenall was going. I didn't believe it and thought it was a mistake. :o

3) Mandaric's already found a buyer for the club, and is just doing as they want, before the Takeover is confirmed. So maybe this 'buyer' wants to bring in there own manager, and see's Birchenall as not needed during half time or around the club. Maybe they would want to make the club into more like the other clubs with not much half time entertainment. For the four aways I went this year, I can't recall one time we had half-time entertainment. Remember this is just speculation ;)

I feel for Birch if it's all true. We should at least try and get the guy re-instated for what he's done over the years.

It could just be that Milan is going to do away with half-time completely as a radical cost-cutting measure. Milan will give the half-time talk himself before the match begins.

It saves 15 minutes of stadium electricity and the Birch's shellsuit and mic will bring in a handsome sum on eBay.

about 17 hours agor
