Is he the one who completely took out Savage the other month? If so get him in. :D

That was Pintado, not Orlandi but even so, get him in!

Ahh, Andrea Orlandi. The Marmite of Swansea City.

Barcelona product brought in as a left winger by Roberto Martinez, spent much of the first two seasons here injured or simply out of favour, but under Sousa has played a lot more games, largely in a central midfield role.

He's not much cop to be honest.

A sizeable minority think he's the mutts nuts because he looks he's got all the silky skills, but everyone else thinks he's crap because he never actually does anything. An attacking midfielder who can't run, beat a man or score goals.

I'd be delighted if you offered him a better contract than we did.

Shit manager, shit players you must have had a lot of luck to avoid relegation.dunno.gif

Sousa wasn't a shit manager, although many of my fellow Jacks would probably disagree out of bitterness. There's no doubt the man can organise a side, even if his inbuilt caution makes it awfully dull to watch. If he can overcome that and add more attacking impetus to his style with you lot then you've got a good 'un.

Orlandi though is beyond redemption.

It's not a lot, but he still scored once for you lot last season. That's 2.5% of your overall total. Not bad for someone who never actually does anything.

I never expected to see anyone arguing that one goal isn't a bad tally for an attacking midfielder over the course of a season lol

I thought he had signed a new contract last season? :dunno:

He only signed a one year deal with the option to extend, but he hasn't taken up the option as of yet, so it would be a free if we signed him.

Ahh got ya, cheers mate. Was reading the swansea forum and they seemed shocked to see he hasn't been given a number, and were saying that he could be leaving.

Well, he was trying to make a point about Orlandi being shit and all - I don't see why scoring goals is the top priority for an attacking midfielder.

It's part of the package, I guess. But most of all, I expect an attacking midfielder to move the game forward and assist the strikers. ;)

The majority of Swansea fans that have come on here to state their views have struck me as overly bitter - sour grapes and all.

I'm waiting for the day they actually find something positive about their current/former players/managers.lol

seems like we have missed out on him - thats if we were even in for him.

However, Rodgers has managed to secure the services of Spanish midfielder Andrea Orlandi, who will sign a fresh two-year deal with the Swans today.

Orlandi had been expected to leave the Liberty after negotiations stalled over the summer but, with the new manager making it clear he was part of his plans, the former Barcelona man agreed to an extension late last night.

The midfielder, who was signed by Roberto Martinez in 2007, enjoyed a breakthrough campaign under Paulo Sousa last season.

After moving from the wing to central midfield, he made 30 appearances, scoring one goal.

News of Orlandi’s extension will come as a surprise to many fans who thought they had seen the last of him.

The 25-year-old had been linked with a move to Leicester to join up with Sousa but, after talks with Rodgers, he was persuaded to stay.
