MikeyT Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 On right now. A special one tonight because of the takeover.
Lester LXXIV Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I can't access it. Would somebody be so kind as to post the major points please? Many thanks in advance. Lester the Leicester fan in pompey!
Edmund Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Said that other investors might be involved at a later date
Ozwin Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I can't access it. Would somebody be so kind as to post the major points please? Many thanks in advance. Lester the Leicester fan in pompey! - 100% sold to Thai blokes - Mandaric still chairman (not sure for how long though) - Looking to set up youth facilities in Asia - Another family may be joining the consortium this season, so hopefully more moneys.
Carlos9 Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 i know this might have been asked before, but how rich are they?? how much money are they putting into the team?? will there be many big name signings before the end of the transfer window??
Lester LXXIV Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Cheers guys. Just seen snippet on SSN. Not to expect 10 million pound signings.
leftsideoverhere Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 i know this might have been asked before, but how rich are they?? how much money are they putting into the team?? will there be many big name signings before the end of the transfer window?? This is exactly why a 'phone in' in which Radio Leicester asks listeners "what they think about Leicester's new owners" is such a stupid idea. No-one knows enough to have a meaningful opinion, and everyone is basically asking each other the above questions, which no-one is capable of answering, or rather no-one is both capable and willing to answer. We are just going to have to wait and see. But that makes for boring radio, I guess.

Not quite how I heard it. 100% sold to consortium, of which MM owns part of.
Carlos9 Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 , then i aint going to get too excited about being taken over. It might all end in tears!
Mack Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 The new owners TOTAL fortune is estimated at £118 million. Sounds a lot but given most of that will be tied up in assets these new owners are no new 'Man City / Chelsea' dawn.

Sounds a lot but given most of that will be tied up in assets these new owners are no new 'Man City / Chelsea' dawn. That is just the part of the Consortium though right? There are others involved, including Milan. That is how I understood it anyway
markbsac Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 That is just the part of the Consortium though right? There are others involved, including Milan. That is how I understood it anyway they are maintaining the debt on the stadiun ect as it is ...so the 40 million or a very good portion of it should be for players..and there are others to come in with money also...its seems like good times !
Maybes Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 they are maintaining the debt on the stadiun ect as it is ...so the 40 million or a very good portion of it should be for players..and there are others to come in with money also...its seems like good times ! Key word being 'seems'.
davieG Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Where did this £40 mill come from that so many are convinced is going to be available? The same place the £25 mill that Mandaric didn't buy the club for I would guess
markbsac Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Where did this £40 mill come from that so many are convinced is going to be available? The same place the £25 mill that Mandaric didn't buy the club for I would guess only quote whats been spoken about on the news to be honest and its a reported 40 million....blame the bbc and itv
Callabinho Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Ok so how many millions do they have, how many millions will we have....truth is we have plenty now! Paulo seems like a clever enough guy to know where to invest his money, obviously if we go asking for players like Buzsacky Q.P.R will want in the region of £1.5 - £2 Million for him now people know we have cash. I hope Sousa looks at proven players who will fit the bill, and I am sure he will! hopefully we can learn from other mistakes and not offer players stupid wages just to bring them to the club to get injured and sit out two seasons! for me it's somebody who will make a positive impact going forward's I'd like to think Peter Whittingham, but i think Cardiff would take full advantage of our current situation and ask for a stupid price! but I hope we bring in sensible signings and push forwards!!!
davieG Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 only quote whats been spoken about on the news to be honest and its a reported 40 million....blame the bbc and itv I do and the Merc will join them tomorrow no doubt. Problem is even the figure was true and I can't imagine anyone would give them that info they'd still not know what it related too.
Edmund Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Ok so how many millions do they have, how many millions will we have....truth is we have plenty now! This is a myth. Their not as loaded as people are making out in terms of the footballing world. One of the owners of Derby County has five times the fortune of Mr King Power. At best, expect a couple of million for transfers which is a a couple of million more to spend than we would've if Milan didn't sell up.

Buzsacky Why would QPR (richest club in the division) want to sell him?
Fox You Forest Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 ...or expect nothing and just have some patience and find out in due course.
davieG Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 ...or expect nothing and just have some patience and find out in due course. If only....
hackneyfox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 they are maintaining the debt on the stadiun ect as it is ...so the 40 million or a very good portion of it should be for players..and there are others to come in with money also...its seems like good times ! I didn't hear it but I thought the club had been purchased for 40m We have run up debts of 26m over the last 3 years And no that doesn't mean that there will be 14m to spend.
KFS Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I was waiting for "now we got money, yeah... I want Waghorn, yeah... Cos he's good."

I didn't mean we Literally have millions to spend, i meant we have plenty if we use it wisely!
Callabinho Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Buzsacky Why would QPR (richest club in the division) want to sell him? Because i know a few Q.P.R fans who say they cant have him and Taraabt on the pitch together, they don't click similar to Lamps & gerrard. Why does everyone think Q.P.R are still loaded, they guy stepped down last year as far as i know....
