hackneyfox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I was waiting for "now we got money, yeah... I want Waghorn, yeah... Cos he's good." Already started on 'Milan sold the club for 40m thread'
hackneyfox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Because i know a few Q.P.R fans who say they cant have him and Taraabt on the pitch together, they don't click similar to Lamps & gerrard. Why does everyone think Q.P.R are still loaded, they guy stepped down last year as far as i know.... He was just one of a consortium that included the likes of ecclestone wasn't he?
Corky Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I was waiting for "now we got money, yeah... I want Waghorn, yeah... Cos he's good." And Gradel.
Callabinho Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 He was just one of a consortium that included the likes of ecclestone wasn't he? Yea, but Flavio Briatore stepped down, so that was a large lump of their money gone leaving Lakshmi Mittal as the only other share holder, but his stake is 20%, their not loaded beyond belief! they probably are the richest team in the league! we wont be too far behind.

How do we know this?
hackneyfox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 We'll be bloody miles behind Mittal is a billionaire.

It doesn't really matter if we are or not. If we use the money we do have wisely, rather than throw it around recklessly, we'll have a better chance of success.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 With Mittal potentially bankrolling QPR, they are likely to be hell of a lot more richer than us ... unless the other part of this consortium of ours (another 3 and from Indonesia?) have big wads to put in,
Maybes Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Yea, but Flavio Briatore stepped down, so that was a large lump of their money gone leaving Lakshmi Mittal as the only other share holder, but his stake is 20%, their not loaded beyond belief! they probably are the richest team in the league! we wont be too far behind. And the fact that it's the same people every week phone in. Its like this after the game too, Always some Captain Obvious called Ross, and a guy called Dipesh.

Madrid_Fox Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Which moron phoned in and said we wont score at all this season because we were not starting Matty Fryatt? What a looney. Its called squad rotation and its clear that the tough decision for Paulo is who will partner Steve Howard upfront.
bettso Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Which moron phoned in and said we wont score at all this season because we were not starting Matty Fryatt? What a looney. Its called squad rotation and its clear that the tough decision for Paulo is who will partner Steve Howard upfront. I've rang the forum a couple of times and each time the producer has asked what I wanted to talk about. Considering this, I wonder why the hell anyone has the chance to go on air and talk about bovril, us not scoring ever because Fryatt isn't playing, the whereabouts of players that haven't played for us for over 6 months and generally spout rubbish about transfer targets. It truly is the worst thing about supporting Leicester at the minute. I know Matt Oakley's performances have improved a little this season, but does that mean that anyone wants to hear him describe his love of wine or how much sport he did as a youngster?? I think not. They always rattle on about how it's the fans opportunity to have their say, yet the number of phone calls that come in seem to be getting less and less so Stringer, The Birch and whoever else they have in can be all buddy buddy. And on the odd occasion a caller does come on, it's always David from Coalville et al. In my humble opinion, there should just be Dagnall (or whoever is presenting), Stringer and the callers. No more of Stringer, Birch etc analysing the game. We dont need their opinion as we have our own. I want the phone in to be given back to the listener to talk about the football. Not the stewards, faction groups such as fosse boys, ticket prices (although £2 extra for purchase on a match day is absolutely criminal), pukka pies or whatever else. Just football.

unreachable Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 The only point of interest was the "Injury Update" from David Rennie concerning Tunchev and Vitor - I don't listen to Radio Leicester on a regular basis so don't know whether this info also appears in Sports News bulletins or is exclusive to the programme. The Leicester Mercury mangled the info given then corrected themselves later! I listen to the programme with the TV news on - multi tasking! If you don't listen to it you can't moan about it being no good!
unreachable Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 Stringer is an appalling journalist. He asks PS about Sports Science. PS garbles an answer which Stringer subsequently knows to be only part of the story but Stringer doesn't follow up PS's reply. I think he's scared he'll be banned by PS so gives him a very soft ride.
Madrid_Fox Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 I made my point about the sport science tonight. Bruno Oliveira is a dedicated sports science man. To suggest that they don't care about it is ridiculous.

It was an ideal opportunity and Stringer could have prompted him.
Bettsj2 Posted 24 August 2010 Posted 24 August 2010 I wasn't suggesting the club doesn't care but why doesn't PS give some more detail and "big up" Bruno Oliveira. It was an ideal opportunity and Stringer could have prompted him. Why should he? I'm not having a dig at you but so many Leicester fans are saying they want to know more about this, that and the boardroom cat but to be quite honest, if I were a manager, I would think that the last thing a supporter would want to hear about is the ins and outs of the sports science department. I thought it was hilarious when they first started talking about this subject that Stringer said 'Steve Howard pulled a hamstring in the 2nd game away to Sheff Utd last season' then 2 minutes later stated, 'I cant remember anyone being injured this early in the season last year'. I texted in a point but they only read half of it, and that was that in the 2 years that Pearson was in charge, the following players suffered injury: - Martin, Henderson, Cisak, Weale, Gilbert, Morrison, Brown, Tunchev, Berner, Mattock, Dyer, Oakley, Wellens, Cleverly, Gradel, N'Guessen, Gallagher, Fryatt, Howard, Vaughan, Kermorgant, Waghorn, Adams. The way that Stringer and some supporters bang on about the sports science department under NP, makes out like it was something out of Universal Soldier. Some mystical place where the players were given the powers of recovery directly from Jesus. The fact is we had several injuries under Pearson at different times. The players recovered and played again. That is something that happens in every single football club in the world. Stringer always tries to make out that the training methods under Sousa have something to do with it like he's encouraging a witchhunt by the fans.
Matt Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 No Phone-in tonight, Thank-god. Bloody hell the prats [regulars] that phone in will be banging their heads into walls.
AmericanScott Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I've never listened to the Phone in before and after reading this thread, i don't think i ever will! I'll end up smashing my poor old radio to pieces after listening to some of the shit people spout out.
