Moussa

I have seen him play a few times and have been quite impressed.

Another Southend fan here in peace.

Moussa is very hit and miss. Play him in the middle of the park which is his best position then he could turn out to be a good player for you.

Tilly made the mistake of playing him out wide last season, when our CM's were gash and Moussa should have played in front of them all. Moussa was the best of the bunch, yet Tilly was loyal to his favourites and thus Moussa was unlucky to be played out of position.

In my mind, the team should have been built around Moussa, the only player who can pick a pass and is the only player who seemed capable of making something out of nothing.

Okai, Southend really rate him, app he is a neat and tidy player with a nice touch, neat footwork, pace, and an eye for a killer pass! Southend couldn't afford his wages so him and a player called O'Keefe went looking for other clubs. He did trail with Q.P.R and app impressed, maybe the signing of Taraabt put Warnock off?

It's not that we couldn't afford HIS wages, we just couldn't afford WAGES in general!

Him and O'Keefe are not the only players to have left the club over the summer, we've had a complete overhal. We've lost several of our 'key players', including Barrett who went to Crystal Palace.

For the crap we find ourselves in, we have one man to blame. The chairman.

The squad was good enough to go up last year, but various HMRC court appearances, late wage payments and other various off-field problems caused havoc amongst the team.

Oh, and Moussa put the ball in the col ewe net, and we won 1-0. For that, he will always be a legend.

Southend can be my second team. Lets get rid of this chairman. Right. How do we go about this?

Rocky otto lives on.

Some fans protested last season etc but nothing really came of any of it!

A few fans ended up outside Ron Martin's house, where his wife was sent out to face the mob! Sums the bloke up!

He's gambled with the future of the club, hoping for a massive pay day when and IF he gets the new stadium. Realizing he couldn't actually afford the players or whatever, he dragged the club through court numerous times over tax debates etc! All one big shambles.

Not to mention all financial trouble, he's was also arrested in February 2008 over corruption and money laundering and has most recently in the last few months, been arrested on sexual assault against his personal cleaner!

He's somehow managed to get a deal with Sainsbury's for them to sort out up to £5m worth of debt for the club, to save his ass ! Sainsbury's really want the land RH is on, there is no other reason for them being so co-operative.

Anyway, Ron seems to have sorted out all the financial troubles so far now, and hopefully we can move forward as a club and actually see work start on the new stadium sometime soon! Doubtful though.

Anyway, sorry about sending the topic, off-topic!!!

First post from a Southend United fan who lives in Leicester (I go to uni there) and have been following Leicester over the past year.

Needless to say I'm happy Moussa has moved to Leicester as I'll still be able to see him play!

I think it's a good move for both parties. Moussa needs to play at a higher level with better players, and Leicester have got a bright talent. He is a very versatile midfielder but I can't see him dislodging the likes of Wellen's and King. I haven't followed Leicester's pre-season so I don't know what formation they're playing. From what I've seen of N'Guessan, Moussa isn't far off his standard, same for Dyer. He could easily push the wingers for a place out wide.

Moussa's key attributes are his good skill on the ball ability to run at players. I think he got about 5 goals for us last year in a struggling team.

I hope he can mature and fulfil the potential we see in him at Roots Hall.

Cheers to the Southend fans for their input, i didn't know anything about the guy.

He's young and seems to have a fair bit of potential, costing nowt, what's not to like?

Unfortunately for the lad, his best chance of getting in the first team at the moment would be out wide, not his best position it seems but i doubt he'd care much at this stage. :)

In a nutshell, he's one for the future. He'll push for a place on the wings but quite possibly isn't any better than what we already have. but in a couple of years may be good enough to play in a more central role. Sounds promising anyway, he'll be on low wages and it's a free transfer.

Hopefully he can play right side in less hit and miss fashion than N'Guessan who consistently performs sub-championship standard imo.

He always played on the left for southend, liked to cut inside quite a lot.

No idea what he's like playing from the right, as he's never played there before.... (from what I can recall!)

is it actually him or someone with the same name?

It is actually him..

I see! i hope it all gets sorted out for you! its a horrible position to be in! but you have a good manager for that level! you will be climbing up the table in no time!

Thanks for the good words.

Things seem to be on the up just recently though, so we will have to see how things pan out in the coming season.

The chairman has never been too great when it comes to PR so I think he's gone completely the wrong way about what he has done, but he's achieved what he wanted to - if that makes sense. I think he wanted to get rid of Tilson and bring in a new manager to freshen things up, but couldn't sack Tilly because he knew what sort of backlash he would get from the fans as Tilson was a legend at the club.

I don't think anyone at the club sensed we would get a manager of Paul Sturrock's calibre to the club, in such a dire situation, and what he has managed to do with the players and the squad he has assembled in no time is nothing short of a miracle.

The first match of the season we conceded a poor goal, but still managed to grab a point in the 93rd minute of added time, and we managed a brilliant shock result against Bristol City in the cup during the week - which shows things are moving in the right direction.

There seems to be a renewed spirit in the camp, which was so badly lacking last year.

Hopefully onwards and upwards for the club.

Moussa was an integral part of the team that played last year, but didn't really set anything alight as he wasn't fully motivated. Who would be after receiving wages late time and time again though?

For the past two seasons we've been crying out for a decent right-sided midfield player and yet we still don't have one.

Hopefully these Thai's will provide some funds in order to bring someone in.

Nice to see Sousa is casting an eye on the lower leagues. Sounds a good buy. Bought because he fits in to the new style of play I think. Sounds a technical player with pace. Interested to see him try break in to the first team this season

I like Southend. I had them as my second club in the early 70s. Billy Best. Star! I went to see them play at Notts County a couple of times. I'm afraid I then switched to Bournemouth. Part time supporter, I know. Anyhow, thanks to the Shrimpers for their input and I hope you get up this season. Great win against Brizzle in midweek. Enjoy your trip to the Recreation Ground tomorrow.

Moussa seems pretty keen to say the right things, which is fine by me. Welcome Franck.

Franck's a fan of Nicolas Anelka and Fresh Prince of Bel Air... ain't he a bit 90's?

AGREED! i so added him though, if he accepts me i'l welcome him ^_^

Really like the sound of this lad, by the sounds of him a fine player to go into a midfield 3 along with Wellens and King.

Robert who?
