Guest Basildon Fox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Why? Goes lovely in a Kebab. Also red onions are better than white. Discuss
Fox You Forest Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Goes lovely in a Kebab. Also red onions are better than white. Discuss I was going to post something about cabbage in a kebab, just why? lettuce is much better. Agree about red onions though.
Criggers Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Just have lettuce and red cabbage. As long as its sliced thinly its great! Ocean Chippy on Little Hill in Wigston is great for Donner Kebabs. They ram the pita full of meat and salad comes in a box, so if you dont want the red cabbage, leave it out! Problem solved. It's just a different colour to add to the salad, thats why it is there. Can get a bit boring when the only thing that isn't green is tomato or pepper. And yes, red onion all the way!
Mack Posted 31 August 2010 Author Posted 31 August 2010 It should be white cabbage in a kebab, not red! The stuff tastes as bitter as hell and is the food of Satan.

AoWW Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Red cabbage I can cope with - only raw, not cooked, mind! But Bovril, Marmite, Twiglets and the like = And, yes, red onions are far superior to the bog-standard ones.

Stig the Lawnmower Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 when i were a lad my mum used to make me and my brothers drink cabbage water, that is the water that cabbage was boiled in, because there is apparently more goodness in it than the cabbage itself. it tasted like sh*t, but is was ok hot with marmite in it. still used to make me fart though

Orkneyfox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Torn off pieces of red cabbage are an abomination and the subject of the next novel by Dan Brown "The Search for the Devils Fruit" Hot red cabbage, vaguely pickled is almost as bad.
Leicfox Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 Pickled red cabbage should only be used on top of a piping hot, Hot Pot.
