Guest Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 one a side issue I was told that if I removed my own ticket stub again (something I have done to EVERY game since the Walkers has opened) I would be refused entry. I like many others are starting to feel uncomfortable, unwanted and disillusioned by the actions of the club I had that this week for the first time ever! Every week I part remove my stub while I'm waiting in line and when I get to the gate i tear the rest out in front of the steward. When I started tearing this week they said 'Oi! Leave that - you shouldn't do that. Trying to be helpful and speed up the entry but fook it Same thing happened to me; I was told I would not be allowed in if I removed my own ticket myself. I have contacted the club about this. On the top of each voucher, it says "This voucher is invalid unless torn from the book in the presence of a turnstile operator. THIS VOUCHER IS NOT TRANSFERABLE" It clearly doesn't say a turnstile operator has to remove the stub. I have asked for further clarification; as long as I remove it in front of the operator, there should be no problem, but with the way certain employees are acting at the moment, I want it in writing. I was told that the reason for this new policy is because of "pastexperiences and problems" and to "prove that the voucher has not been taken out ofsomeone else’s book – i.e. a lost or stolen one". Without wanting to be pedantic, the book I remove the stub from could have been found/stolen. Nobody checks the name of the person with it, so probably best not to point this one out otherwise we'll be IDed to gain entry in future......
Petchy Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I had this problem to at the Borough game. Must say I'm feeling uneasy at the changes made in the summer... men in suits wandering around, watching everyone, and to add to that the bookies don't even speak good English!
stripeyfox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I think everyone knows that the stub should be removed where the turnstyle operator can see it but why have they only started enforcing it now. As much as a fiasco as the card entry system at Filbert Street which during the last season, any credit card with a magnetic stripe would operate some of the gates!
Bakey Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Never did it anyway, i just put it on the right page,
Houdini Logic Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Fuck 'em - they can find the number/letter themselves as well from now on then [/end petty protest]
1964FOX Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I'm going to put a fosse boy sticker on the back of the next voucher due to be taken out at next match and see what is said about that.
Mee Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I always just the the old bloke at the turnstile do it. By the time i have turned to the correct number, he has ripped it off anyway .
AoWW Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I'm going to put a fosse boy sticker on the back of the next voucher due to be taken out at next match and see what is said about that. You'll be sent to the Tower.
davieG Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Everyone should just hand over a closed ST booklet then see what happens when we get a busy evening game where people are unavoidable late getting there. Also they can save a few pennies by not putting up the voucher number for the game as we don't need to know it.

Well if you can't manage to find the right thread, I don't hold out much hope of you finding the right ticket in your book.
lildave3 Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Always tear mine out before I walk in but hold it with my book when I give it him. Saves everybody time and i've done it ever since I had a season ticket at the Walkers. I'll carry on doing it too.
AoWW Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 All this hassle just gives me another reason not to buy a season ticket.
Corky Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I've done it a couple of times and nothing was said. Normally let the steward rip out the stub.
davieG Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Well if you can't manage to find the right thread, I don't hold out much hope of you finding the right ticket in your book. The advantages of being admin, well we need some compensations.

Torn between doing that or finding out what that cheap plastic booklet sounds like round the face of a steward
AoWW Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Torn between doing that or finding out what that cheap plastic booklet sounds like round the face of a steward They're fantastic for swatting flies - I imagine they'd be similarly effective on stewards.
davieG Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 All this hassle just gives me another reason not to buy a season ticket. I've done it for the last 20 odd years (except when we had the cards obviously) never ever been questioned.
The Doctor Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Torn between doing that or finding out what that cheap plastic booklet sounds like round the face of a steward sounds like when you use it as a hand held fan but with a slight thud.
Corky Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I've done it for the last 20 odd years (except when we had the cards obviously) never ever been questioned. Ah the days of the card- when people always seemed to try and swipe it the wrong way round
1964FOX Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 You'll be sent to the Tower. I don't want to go to Blackpool that tw@t DJ is going (I hope)
