1964FOX Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 You haven't had to sit through the performances. You've been tucked up in bed, with your Hot chocolate, whilst snow's been falling outside your window. It's unacceptable, you can't surely agree that, because we got done over by bottom of the league, we're going to win against a side that is playing well, fair enough they haven't won their last 2. But Norwich are playing very well, there sitting 6th in the table. Saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if we beat Norwich. It's the Leicester way to get hammered against bottom of the league, then beat the sides at the top of the table. I have sat through them and Valerenga is making sense, how many of us have said we don't deserve to be where we are, well pompey fans say exactly the same about there team. A lot is being made that we were thrashed by the bottum club, well I will predict they won't stay in the lower part of the division for long, they have quality and it will show through. We could easily stuff Norwich if things go our way or if Sousa does get it right. Yes he has made some poor decisions but give him time to learn, we have the players to get into the top half of the division at least. The players were as much to blame on Friday night as Sousa but they are not being slated. Some of Sousa's signing will also do well in this division given the chance especially Yuki and Vitor. I am sure the new owners will sack him if things don't improve soon but, until they do let's give the bloke a chance.

I'm not saying we should be top but he should have shown some signs of improvement. We have just worse bar 2 games (Coventry and Cardiff) Here's a question? Who does he play at the back now? We haven't got a decent centre back to partner Hobbs. Vitor is too small, we will just keep conceding more goals from crosses with him. We need someone with experience and aerial ability and Vitor is not that.
1964FOX Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Personally I think Vitor has done well and looked very capable for the time he has spent on the pitch. I accept the issue of height and presence, Jack Hobbs does seem to still need someone experienced and confident beside him so an experienced loan player might be the answer but I don't know who. I also agree with those who want Waggy to play up front that is a stupid decision to put him on the wing. Fryatt and waggy up front for me, stevie is no longer good enough but I wish all the other players showed his passion and will to play you can't fault him for that. Drop oakleigh and lone him out, well past his best.

Lillehamring Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 4-0 To Norwich. The Norwich fans wont let us forget about Pompey and i can see us getting another hiding, with Morale Low and the manager seems pretty happy to get smashed so i suppose 4-0 isn't a bad score line. they will take a 3-0 lead before half time and i bet this is his team: is that josh's mexican cousin
buzzy Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Apparently they played well yesterday despite losing, so we'll probably face a backlash, added to our own incompetence right now, means I can only see a defeat. 4-0 to Norwich. you say we will get a backlash from norwich but don't you think that norwich could be onto a backlash from use if the right team with a fighting attitude could win we live in hope

Wycombe Fox Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 What's happened? I've woken up full of optimism this morning. There's only seven points between us and a play-off spot - that's nothing! 1-6?? Pah! Fluke (even though last Tuesday's score could have been similar)! A sneaky 1-0 win for City with Waggy scoring his first goal, in the first half from a corner. Now...where did I put those tablets?
The Doctor Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 jesus, if it's so painful supporting city why don't you all piss off and do something more useful than boring everyone to death with this garbage. i see no reason why we can't get a result against norwich, they aren't that special. i mean, look at our last 4 games... Cardiff - 2nd in the league, and averaging 2 goals a game - we won 2-1 QPR - top of the league, 22 points from a possible 24, +20 goal difference, apart from 2 moments of class even warnock said it was their toughest game Portsmouth (cup) - just relegated after 7 years in the prem (including 2 top 10 finishes) and with a relatively intact squad - we won 2-1 Portsmouth (league) - as above, ok they dicked us, but given the quality of their team, they had the fortune to be gifted effectively a 2 goal head start and an extra man for 70 minutes and suddenly rediscovered their confidence.. we lost. ...it is clear that we aren't as hopeless as that last result suggests, and what bigger motivation could such a stuffing provide. rather than crying like a bunch of babies like most of the contributors to FT these days, i'm sure the team that put in those respectable performances will be dying to prove what they are capable of, and i'm sure no team ever wants to face a team that beat the second place team a fortnight before getting stuffed 6-1. 2-1 leicester. stop being sensible. you should know by now that only insane knee jerk reactions are allowed
MikeyT Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Not a clue about this one. Who knows. Ummm ok Norwich will win 2-0. Sousa sacked after the game.
Corky Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 you say we will get a backlash from norwich but don't you think that norwich could be onto a backlash from use if the right team with a fighting attitude could win we live in hope I do live in hope, and you could well be right. However, I worry about the mental side of the defeat on Friday, if it had been 1-0 then I'd be more confident of a positive result. I'll be there, backing the team and hoping that we can get that result and put Friday out of our minds
darko2k7 Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 I'm going for a 4-0 City win Now I know this is unrealistic but it seems that nearly every result this season as been the opposite to wot most ppl thought would happen, so if every one thinks we will lose we will probably batter them
Lord Fox Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 3-0 loss and Sousa sacked by 10pm Tuesday night. In a sick perverted sort of way I hope your right, and hey, what's another 3 minus goals in our goal difference anyway (did I really just say that, god it must be bad?) - if it gets rid of the Muppet?
Tilley Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 [/b] In a sick perverted sort of way I hope your right, and hey, what's another 3 minus goals in our goal difference anyway (did I really just say that, god it must be bad?) - if it gets rid of the Muppet? Sure better than scraping a 1-0 win, giving everyone false hope and keeping this idiot in charge.
Wymsey Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 3-0 to them then Stringer will be talking worrying shit all week
maddog Posted 28 September 2010 Author Posted 28 September 2010 Was unsure as to the outcome when i put the poll up but i think we are going to steal this 1-0 or 2-1 with a key refereeing decision going our way for once Waghorn and Fryatt to score should it be a 2-1 smash n grab It's definitely the most unoptimistic poll probably ever though, over 2 thirds vote for loss to Norwich We're not playing Chelsea tonight you know
Corky Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Sure better than scraping a 1-0 win, giving everyone false hope and keeping this idiot in charge. Don't know about that mate, we need all the points we can get currently.
Jodranadinho Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Must be a win tonight. 3 points to kickstart the whole season. Looking back at last season the next two games are definite 3 pointers and our games to take! On paper our squad has only got better and with a couple of wins in a row would get us right up this table!
reynard Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Suspect we will play a lot better than Friday, pass the ball around ok in a non threatening manner and probably end up losing 2-0 but we can all be proud of the lads for an improved effort. I'd be happy with a 0-0 to be honest.
