Maybes Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Away days are more than a result, surely. Yes they are indeed. Even though we got dicked on friday still had a decent night out on the south coast. The football tends to be a distraction from the drinking antics anyhow. That said, I will not be in attendance tomorrow. Work, money and a fair few miles away severley puts me off.

ACF Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Pfft, you need to get yourself to some aways - 12 hour flight time to Thailand, I believe. Should give you plenty of time to read that guide book. He ain't coming here, he'll be disrupting my holiday!
AoWW Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Good lad, I take it that's some fine Norwich drinking establishment Coach and Horses is a nice little pub, in fairness. Its alright, along the main road going into carrow road from great yarmouth. I think im thinking of the right one. Yelloweyish one?
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 I'll follow my team forever. I don't care if they are playing in the conference (obviously, I want us to be in the Prem). I'm a Leicester fan, always have been and always will be. So yes, it's worth going. Get down there, show the team support (regardless of wether they deserve it or not), it's you're club is it not? Leicester till I die! I'd be there but I'm in Rotterdam, but my lad will be there. Loud & proud thru good & bad
CosbehFox Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Go fook off and support Man Utd/Chelsea. You don't seem to understand that, Football clubs have their high points and their lows. True fans go to watch THEIR team regardless of whether their Winning the Champions League, or playing in the 1st round of the Johnson's Paint Trophy. We had our highs last season, exceeded all expectations, now we've hit rock bottom. It's time's like this as Liam said, that need us all to pull together and get behind the lads. Yes Sousa might need to go in my eyes, but if he isn't going to leave, we all need to get behind the bloke. Sing your hearts out, get your season tickets out, turn your radio's on, wherever you are across the world, go down to the ticket office buy a ticket, listen on foxesplayer, and get behind the lads and the manager. Some of you younger folk have completely missed the point. This isn't down to glory, success or failure. It's down to the direction the club is heading in an overall sense, not on the pitch but off it. The only way the club at board level would ever feel the hit of support waning is in their pockets. They are happy with half a stadium of empty seats as along as those filled are coming in at £30 per head or season ticket holders who buy shirts, food etc. To top it off, there's certain parts of the 'matchday experience' they like to promote which is downright dreadful from service at food kiosks to the treatment of fans. It's a lot more complex then this blind faith football supports seem to have up and down the country. It's a completely 'one way' relationship between fan and club and they think we are all uneducated ******. Don't get wrong I enjoy just as much as the next man because of mates and socialising etc. but there's a line the club are increasingly getting near to pricing out and alienating the average fan. The money we 'invest' is currently filling pockets or making up for debt.

CosbehFox Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Admittedly no but I am picking up on the general point of our support.

My general principle is that the team and the individual players are putting in the effort, then, win or lose they get my support. I might moan a bit and I am often critical, but I still turn up. The issue at the moment is quite simply, are the players committed? Without even considering rumour and gossip, it is quite clear, from observing matters such as team selection, on field confidence and body language that a fair number of our players simply do not or will not 'buy in' to what Sousa is trying to do. Whether this is Sousa's fault for trying to change too much too quickly or the players reacting poorly to being jolted out of their comfort zone I have no idea. What is obvious is that the current shapeless mess will not do, either the manager has to get a strong grip on the squad, shipping out those players who do not toe the line or he, himself has to go. Which would be best for the club? I have no idea, that is just one more reason to make the long drive up the A11 to find out! :scarf:
paddy Agyemang Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 who ever has not got a ticket then get 1 and show your support to the players not sousa 600 fans is shit so if we can make it 700 then that is a lot better

My main concern with Sousa is his stubborn and arrogant approach. I don't actually think he's tactically clueless but he will simply not budge or adapt his tactics for the opposition or even recognise the success of the previous manager. Secondarily, he can't spot a player's quality judging from his signings but we could have read this from his QPR and Swansea time and employed a very good scout at the top as West Brom currently do. Finally, the language barrier is difficult to convey his feelings and emotions thus doesn't strike many as a leader of men and in this regard, I feel he could destroy certain players confidence. For that reason, I am not far off from being firmly in the 'Out 'camp. Obiviously main overall concern of the club is it's long-term future which looks like it will be very messy and a very difficult time for fans going Mandaric's previous selling off a club and the last venture from a Thai

Obiviously main overall concern of the club is it's long-term future which looks like it will be very messy and a very difficult time for fans going Mandaric's previous selling off a club and the last venture from a Thai 1 Sousa bought a number of new players and when he learned that they weren't quite up to speed, he was happy to drop them for our 'old' players - not exactly the sign of a stubborn and arrogant manager. I also remember a certain Nigel 'God' Pearson being particularly stubborn when it come to tactics. 2 Cameos in the first 8 games is hardly the correct environment to judge if his players have quality - I'm sure you'll eat your words in more than one instance. 3 His English is better than some more successful managers in the Prem.
CosbehFox Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 8 games....ask Swansea fans about Sousa's signing. The two best Dyer and Cotterill are board signings and the showing of his signings here or the players he dare chooses have been daft. I actually think Moussa looks a sensible signing but the vast majority have been poor so far. Ikeme FFS! Pearson adapted as last season went on. He only kept insisting on Kermorgant. Neilson, DNG, McGivern, Oakley were all used in reserve after they were sussed towards end of the season. He changed formation to suit as well. The only thing he was stubborn on was Dj Campbell. The managers you refer to have actually achieved something managerial wise. This immediately gives the players a certain confidence.

I actually think Moussa looks a sensible signing but the vast majority have been poor so far. Ikeme FFS! Managers past experience/choices get nothing more than a quick read from me. Ask Blackpool fans if they care how Leicester feel about Holloway Pearson adapted as last season went on. He only kept insisting on Kermorgant. Neilson, DNG, McGivern, Oakley were all used in reserve after they were sussed towards end of the season. He changed formation to suit as well. The only thing he was stubborn on was Dj Campbell. McGivern was selected over Berner far too many times and I seem to remember Neilson selected over Morrison back in the days when Neilson was 'Liability Neilson'. Kermogant and Neilson are examples of how every manager makes the odd signing mistake The managers you refer to have actually achieved something managerial wise. This immediately gives the players a certain confidence. Fine, at least you acknowledge that it isn't actually the language barrier that is the problem. Anyway I think there's enough threads that we could post this in - I'll just say that not everything is as one sided as certain people are making out
