The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 When Eriksson said how good our fans were? OK, 20k turning out when we were bottom is pretty good. But that was one of the worst atmospheres I can remember for a long time yesterday!
Matt Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 When Eriksson said how good our fans were? OK, 20k turning out when we were bottom is pretty good. But that was one of the worst atmospheres I can remember for a long time yesterday! Wouldn't go that far, wouldn't say it was bad, wouldn't say it was good, I'd say it was like normal - which is not very good, but to say it was the worst you can remember for a long time is abit OTT. Bit of a pointless thread really.
Jay Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 When Eriksson said how good our fans were? OK, 20k turning out when we were bottom is pretty good. But that was one of the worst atmospheres I can remember for a long time yesterday! well he's hardly going to say at his unveiling, I was disappointed to see a half empty stadium and near silence, the fans were rubbish yesterday and so on.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 October 2010 Author Posted 3 October 2010 Exactly, thats why I cringed, as it was such an obvious lie!
Bugg Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 So you would rather hear him say "Leicester's fans were absolute dog shit yesterday"? Come on be serious, he's just trying to help the fans get on his side.
Rich Fox Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 20,000 when botton of the championship is a great attendance, has nobody in Leicester notices the massive recession the country is in people goin bust all over the place of maybe you are all millianaires? Our prices on the day are also a bit pricey.

backinthebigtime Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 i think yesterdays atmosphere was very subduded ,, I felt sat in the stands that there was a degree of apprehension throughout not only the fans but the team as well........and this showed through even more once Scunny had scored....completly understandable seeing as what we had all be through on the preceeding few weeks and especially the last 24 hrs....5 points from 9 games , and then having not played too well but winning at home was always going to have that effect on the fans and the team....once the final whistle went there was almost a collective sigh of releif from around the stadium...Chris Powell,s reation summed it all up. Im sure as things improve in the comming weeks that the atmosphere will get better as the uncertanty and nervousness subsides...keep the faith.
Guest Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 We have a good number of supporters but our vocal support is poor. It's poor when we're doing well. It's many years since we could be called a team with an atmosphere. Shame.
FrankieADZ Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 i was kinda cringing thru most of the best conference tbh. But we'll have to wait and see if he's still got it or has got it to cut the mustard at this level. So bring on Hull
acooling08 Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 I think it was because there was no Jobber and his drum to start things off.
ThurmastonFox Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 I think it was because there was no Jobber and his drum to start things off. Yeah, I blame Jobber too!! And the fact we won means that Jobber should be banned until we lose again (jk)
The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 October 2010 Author Posted 3 October 2010 I think it was because there was no Jobber and his drum to start things off. Im not knocking Jobber now in what I want to say, he's a sound bloke and does help the atmosphere, but theres only perhaps two songs he starts himself with his drum. The Ring Of Fire- we know how some feel about that song! and the 'blues' chant! So think its unfair to say that L Block was crap because he wasn't there. As someone mentioned, it was more due to nerves, and the fact that Scunny fans wernt very good either! Unfortunatley its also the type of fans that go to the games now. (not all I know) as shown when the fosse boys first started. But thats an issue at every football ground you go to rather than only our problem
1964FOX Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 The atmosphere was pretty good from where I stood but I will agree it was quieter than usual around us in the kop. It did explode with noise once it was certain we had won so it was probably downto nervous apprehension
Karljohn Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 20000 in that stadium yesterday?, Scunny bought about 400, it was half full at best. I stood in the ticket office at 2pm and 5 out of the 8 counters were empty, and there was no-one queuing, its the first time I have walked in and gone straight to a counter on match-day. Yesterday was also the 2nd game of the Sun newspaper 2 tickets for £19.50 and kids for a quid.

Add that to the late-comers who buy tickets on the day, it is quite believable that there was 20.000 in the ground.
