Ric Flair Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Sangsom will change your life. It's their homegrown rum/whiskey. I had 7 buckets of that when Leicester got promoted after beating Southend and passed out. Their lager Chang is very erratic in strength, it varies between 5-10 % and it's a lottery. Some nights you'll have 12 of them and be ok and other times you'll have 3 or 4 and be off your face. I expect Sven to be chasing skirt after a couple. A happy ending won't just be a win against Bryan Robson's team on Saturday it will also be a technique performed by the Thai massage girls for an extra few bhat.
Far Post Gerry Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Spot on Ric; five buckets and I went home without my shoes. But by god, it was a good night (if my memory serves me right, which it probably doesn't).
martyn Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 I'm pretty sure it was the concentrated Red Bull they put in the buckets that had the most effect on me, that and the heat. A very very strange kind of drunk those Buckets.
renards Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Not sue if it has been covered before? Sven has very strong Thai links as already known, whilst I was in Koh Samui years ago they were pushing Svens connection. http://www.asiatraveltips.com/news06/910-PeregrinaBayKohSamui.shtml Been various areas most of the last 12 years, Peter Withe was national manager then, British football gets massive coverage + our trip there will be worth a furtune in publicity. One of the counties richest men devloped their red bull equivalant, understand they were first? Be suprised if Sven shafts us/ the Thais as they don't feck about, his holiday home would be ashes and he would get the King Power kidnapping treatment should he venture in duty free for 200 B&H Singa by far the best ale + no 'Chang head' the next day.

But by god, it was a good night (if my memory serves me right, which it probably doesn't). You living out there? I'm back over for a month on 28th December. Cannot wait. I might need to tap you up for some travel advice actually. Got 3/4 nights to kill after ChiangMai before I head to Bangkok and was wondering where is decent up there? I was thinking of Pai?

Newcastle_Fox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Hahahahaaa!! Mushy Mountain. How are you pal, not seen you on here for years??? How do mate? Yeah I'm good thanks, after a 8 months away last year traveling the world and generally living the dream. I crashed back down to earth last summer and been working in London ever since and enjoying it. Still check back here every now and again but dont tend to post much these days. Lucky **** a month in Thailand, I loved Asia prob the best just in front of South America, so much to do and see, everything so cheap, diving good, beers good.
Houdini Logic Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 The first time I went to Bangkok I arrived late and took a taxi from the Airport to the hotel. I was dropped off at the bottom of the street and by the time I reached my hotel door I had already arranged to go out partying with an amazing group of Thai girls. If you need to know anything more then you're an idiot
cambridgefox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Tongsai bay hotel in koh samui must be avoided in April if you want a relaxing holiday. My kids are noisy and are expected to ruin many peoples honeymoons, and well earned holidays, with me making it worse shouting at them! Thailand is the 2nd largest Tungsten producer in the world! Thai people are shit at darts though!

Yes mate; I'm in my office right now, overlooking the smoggy Bangkok skyline. Pai's a cracking little place. I'm sure you know the reputation; backpacker heaven - everything on the menu's got the word 'happy' before it! Probably the best bet with 3-4 days, but it's all beautiful round that area. You could try Mae Sot as well; rugged little Burmese border town - depends what you're after. Let us know if you need owt.

I'm also living in London now, been here since July '09. We should meet up and have a beer at some point, especially when the Blue Army are next playing down here.
