Why does everyone hate Fryatt?

If he had any loyalty to the club or himself, he would be fit.

He's had plenty of time recently to have worked on his fitness levels.

The first part is massive hyperbole.

The second part is spot on.

It's management's responsibility to ensure appropriate fitness levels, but if an individual player feels that they need to be fitter, they should take it upon themselves to get fitter. This is particularly true of Fryatt, who by his own admission had his 2 best seasons on the back of a solid base of fitness.

It's as much hyperbole as others claiming he signed an extension with us in the 3rd when he could have signed for a premier side.

And he does owe it to himself.

He'll blow his very long only chance soon.

He's had, as you say, 2 good seasons, how long have we had him now?

He's not referred to as Fry Up for no reason

If a manger isn't praising him he looks as if he sulks.

I honestly think it's far too late for him and we should get rid.

Someone may actually pay us money for him.

He does come across to me as the kind of player who gets a bit sulky once things aren't going his way. No doubt he is great when he is on it, but hasn't hinted at that kind of showing lately. Today i thought he was poor, gave up on lots - there was one time where he could have won the ball in the area but gave up looking for a penalty (which would have been soft to say the least).

I also think his vision was pretty poor, he didn't spot alot of good runs and instead just got his head down and ran nowhere.

Fryatt is at very best a godd division 1 player.

Now he thinks we all love him he hides from the ball and can often be seen moving so a player is between him and the ball,

He is lazy, slow, and knows that very soon Sven will bring in a player to show us all how poor he is.

Fryatt is a very young striker with bags of ability as he shown on plenty of occasions. The moment he isn't scoring, brainless idiots start berating him. Some of the crap written on here about him is unbelievable. He hasn't played regularly for some time and is therefore finding it difficult to find form. If anybody can be bothered to look back at the Norwich game, he demonstrated more class in a very brief appearance than any other striker has all season. When things aren't going to plan, everyone likes to have a scapegoat and Fryatt seems to be the man. How he can be given so much shit considering he has only started six games this season is unbelievable and just merely represent the considerable number of brainless, fickle, numpties that supposedly support the club.

ervyone whoe rants how poor fryatt is is stupid because we have all seen what he can do, with fryatt its all about playing him right , i think he played well yesterday was strong and passed wide well, he thrives off flick ons and clever through balls he has no pace so the balls need to be right , his runs are more intellagent then any other player in this league (maybe bar bellamy) its simple he needs to play in a flat 4-4-2 with a big man and howard and fryatt playing together are deadly, i fancy matty to come good again very soon . and as for the "hes found his level in leage 1" if we sighn santa cruz and he scores 30 goals in this leage does that mean the championship is his level no it means hes a class above this level just like fryatt was a class above league 1 . simples

So an entire team has to adjust to the shitness of one player. That is fookin comical it's not as if we are playing a complex game.

As excuses go that is one of the worst.

no but imo in this league to sucseed you need a big man anyway

i'm told he puts his socks on before he puts on his underpants

my gran used to say this was a very bad sign in a man

i don't think the fans hate him. just get frustrated with him sometimes. i do think that is partly cos some of our fans are a bit fickle especially if they are starting to turn on waggy. just get behind them rather than moan at them, you can see they try. fryatt has proven he can do it, last season and against norwich this season. however, he is not the kind of striker that we can play up front on his own which has happenned sometimes this season. but to be fair, strikers are judged on the goals they score and he needs to bang them in regularly to get all the fans behind him

Wrote this (partly) about Fryatt this morning:

Thought it was a huge opportunity missed for Fryatt yesterday. Hung onto the ball too long when in possession. A familiar failing.

That was a great read Fez.

If you can recall people thinking that duo were Premiership standard 4 years ago then it confirms that sections of our support are stupid beyond words.

he's a league 1 striker nuff said!!

So let me get this right, a player who scores 12 goals in 27 championship starts is league one? Add to this the fact that some of these games were after a long term injury. I take it you think through your points/ Brainless!

One game, a huge opportunity missed? I didn't realise we are judging players on one game? If thats the case, Abe and Vitor should be long gone. If you haven't realised Fryatt has not had a consistent run in the side yet and is likely to be lacking match fitness. Not that any level headed individual would realise.

Though in effect, it isn't actually one game. I think it is more about the time he's taken to perform this season and from what I've heard from people at the games he still hasn't stepped up. This game was a good opportunity, as it was a relatively poor preston performances and we did create chances which he (and not forgetting waggy) didn't convert.

Its getting to the point where you wonder where the goals are going to come from. I hope it is about match fitness, but with 2 or 3 more starts, this excuse cannot really be made either. His record proves he can cut it at this level so I hope he does prove the doubters wrong tbh.

It was clearly a huge opportunity with Vassell not yet match-fit, against a poor side where we had the majority of possession and the midfield played well.

Anyone who doesn't perform will be replaced pretty swiftly under Eriksson, in my opinion. It's happened to Neilson and Morrison. It's even happened to Berner.

I'm certainly not judging him on one game. I must have seen him play over 100 times for City over the past few years. I am just making the point that no-one can rest on their laurels at the moment and Fryatt needs to get up to speed as soon as possible. I felt yesterday was a missed opportunity to impress.
