Why does everyone hate Fryatt?

I know the days of league 1 were a long time ago but he was firing them in left, right and center also last year he was doing ok until he got injurred and even this season in the Norwich math he showed his old self given an opportunity, he showed a real fighting spirit and still fans want him to go I wonder if fans are going to turn on Waghorn soon?

Not everyone, I don't hate him :)

I'm sure some fans have already turned on Waghorn, and probably did when he was here on loan anyway.

Let's face it, fans will always find something to moan about, regardless of how well the club does. For some it seems like their nature that they'll find a scapegoat, be it players or managers.

I've always really wanted him to succeed, but he's one of the most frustrating players we have. Misses far more of the great chances he gets than he scores and he needs a ridiculous amount of confidence to perform.

I don't hate him..

I think the people who have a major issue with him get frustrated by him more than anything.

I still think if he is given a good run in the team and is backed he will score goals.

That is the key word. I dont think anyone hates him they are just severely frustrated. When you see him score goals like his 2nd goal away at Watford last year but then see him miss a one on one in the play off 1st leg against Cardiff it just winds people up.

Granted strikers dont always score every chance but he is far more erratic than any other striker i've ever seen play. I still wouldnt want to see him leave though.

Why do people create threads saying 'Why does everyone hate...'

For most people its not that they hate the player (ie Hobbs Fryatt Wellens), its that they feel the player isn't performing to the best of their ability.

For me, and this is an opinion, no factual, i am a big fan of Matty's abilty.

When fit, he can hold the ball wel and run well with the ball and score a good goal or two

From what i have found, there is a marmite of fans, love fryatt and hate howard, or love howard and hate fryatt. i am one of the "love fryatt, hate howard" brigade.

Dont get me wrong, i am a fan of all our players who play for us and i do not boo any players, as they do not deserve it.

i think that Howard has been good this season, but give Fryatt a chance, injured and suspended and then asked to play on his own, i mean upfront on his own. that is a dfficult task for any player.

as it stands, the majority of our games have ben 4-5-1, but i think that we need to play 4-4-2. Either one will do for me, as long as we win football matches!!!!

Dont want to lose Fryatt, as he has worked hard since he has been here, falling out of favour with various manager, but i have every confidence in him to be a good striker, given chances.

thanks

I think he is the most overrated player we've had since Iain Hume and, like Hume, I don't think he warrants the adulation he is afforded either, that is what I hate.

Also after his pathetic efforts for us this season, where he didn't even try in at least 4 games, he has shown his true colours and I want him out.

Well everyone doesn't hate him, he has a fair amount of supporters along with the detractors.

He is the sort of player to divide opinion, on the one hand he's got a good touch and puts away difficult chances, while missing easier chances and often shooting when passing would be the better idea.

He is only overated because he has been a proven goalscorer. Its called form, same thing happened with rooney to an extent. It doesn't make him a bad player overnight, he has just lost a bit of form. And like rooney, he is getting slated quite rightly, for not performing. But dont worry he will be back :P

I would most definitely agree with this. 1000 times. It really is a sad state of affairs when distinctly average players without even a hint of comedy value are given God-like status.

Proven goalscorer in League One yes, still flattering to deceive at this level though in my opinion. "Oh but he got a serious injury", "he needs a proper run in the team" yadde yadda. Maybe he should get his head down, earn a run in the first team, do the business when he gets the chance instead of being his frustrating version and actually make some people eat their words. Whilst he's on the pitch being static / greedy / wasteful, he's hardly likely to endear himself to anyone, especially his critics.

I dont hate him but maybe its because he is not actually that good?!

couldn't have said it any better. Fryatt is a decent enough div 3/4 p;layer but the championship is out of his depth
