Watford FC vs. Leicester City Post-match thread

Aren't a lot of modern day full backs like that now?

With regard to the ground hopefully these reports of potential investment can come true and we will get to build a new east stand to smarten the place up...

The Rookery is quite good now but clearly you don't get the chance to go there whilst the away end is really too small but about 10 years old already.

First of all, well played yesterday......

Haven't been to your place since Muzzy Izzet headed us into the play offs, we took 6000 and must have had 500 fans wearing Fez's! I get car sick going south.

Watford always reminded me of a subbuteo ground, stands of different heights, and plastic supporters!

Where's that Elton John fella these days? surely he's got a few million going begging to buy you a new stand?

He has done a couple of concerts to raise money to buy players in the past couple of years but we cannot always rey on Elton and we had the chance to build up the stadium when the Premiership money but wasted that money on expensive flops like Ellington.

Our former chairman Graham Simpson actually said we were going to build the new east stand...but then money went else where.

:unsure::whistle:

The Rous stand was built in 87 with the 2 ends around the mid 90s...

Also, Oakley; a player who hasn't scored in ages, way past it, and overall- shit, subbed on for King; our topscorer, and biggest threat, whilst 2-1 down?

Am I the only one who was confused by this?

I cannot get my head round taking an attacking midfielder off for Matt Oakley when we were chasing the game? Does anyone agree with this?? King is always good for a goal and whilst I don't mind Oakley, I would never bring him o for Kingy unles it was in the 93rd minute and we were trying to close a game out!

Interested to hear from anyone who agreed with that change because even though King was poor by his standards he is always a threat and that is what makes him a special player!

I still don't understand it either. At the time aswell Abe was hobbling, so we thought Abe was the player going to come off?

Crazy sven.

In fairness to the management, the change resulted in an equaliser 5 minutes later. In addition, Oakley took over the holding role which allowed Abe two reasonable chances as the game went on. In fact, having been tactically snookered by Watford's 4-5-1 first half system match-up, great credit has to be made to the coaching staff whose changes regained the initiative. But you can't legislate for sloppy defending.

Quickly shout out to the FT crowd we saw today, especially Singh who provided great banter on the way home.

and provided quality alcohol to us on the train on the way down! ;) I was w*nkered by the end of the day!

Great day out temporarily spoilt by 90 mins of shite football...

Cant believe the amount of ppl on here who still wont accept the fact that Fryatt & Waghorn aren't very good. Fans yesterday singing for Waggers who then came on and did absolutely nothing as usual bar run around like a headless chicken. Frankly I dont care if you dont like it thats my opinion... waste of money. £250k would have been a fair price to pay for the lad. A trier for sure but doesnt produce the goods.. as for Fryatt - feck off, anywhere, I dont care just feck off.

If we dont invest in January we're going nowhere. We didnt deserve shit yesterday, neither team were that good IMO but they deserved it for their persistance.

Oh and seemed pretty obvious to me that King was substituted due to his recent injury... why else would it have happened

One of the best games ive been to. Leicester showed great fighting spirit and were robbed of a point because of mistakes from the defenders. Even though I was really ill yesterday, still went and hoped Leicester would have got a point!

Were we at the same game or is this your second game behind losing to Burnley?! It was shite IMO even through a drunken haze!
