LCFC_Josh Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 I was just wondering if i got a ticket for an away game where know one was standing would i be able to just simply stand on the exit steps at the back by where other people are standing or would i most likly get told to move or kicked out by stewards? Just wondering because i have not been to an away game for ages.
Fosse Boy Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Depends on the ground and whether the stewards have any common or not.
LCFC_Josh Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Depends on the ground and whether the stewards have any common or not. Ok thanks just wondering because i want to go to an away game soon and i want to be able to stand and sing thats all.
kylestyle06 Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 I thought the atmousphere was poor. We went near the home fans (who were absolutely terrible, I couldn't see one person singing, or even look interested in the game until they went 3-2 up!!) stood infront of a barrior . People after people was moaning because we was standing saying we're ruining the game (we wasn't even in their fecking view). I told the stewards I would not sit, and to whose view im blocking? He said "you're out", to which a few people who wanted to stand near me heard how I was treated and retaliated also. I then pointed out to the stupid idiot, that there was a few seats closer to the top where we could fit in. He wanted to check my ticket (which was near the front), and go kick the people out who was sitting in my seat, which I thought was uncalled for. All in all, was the poorest away game I have ever been to in my life, 3/4 of the fans sat on their hands, and ruined the day out for me really. It was even worse than the game at Watford last season, which was poor in itself. Games like this want me to stop going away games, and only go to the grounds that have unreserved seating, which ALL clubs should put in place.. So the people who want to take their flasks, and sit on their hands at the front can do so, and people who want to stand and support their team, can do freely, without being MOANED at for being too loud!!!!!!!!!
marbelladave Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 For what it is worth... These days I travel independently and rarely sit/stand with our away support, all the nonsense about allocated seats, sitting/standing and braindead stewarding is a real pain in the arse and I can no longer be doing with it. I miss the fun of being with our own supporters but in the main prefer to sit where I can watch the game without all the hassle and distractions of the 'away end'. On saturday I was in the main (Rous) stand and pretty much throughout the game our support was louder than an admittedly pretty quiet home support, generally a good effort I thought. Stevie Howard did a good job of getting the fans going second half and until the winning goal went in the Watford fans seemed somewhat cowed. Great effort by everyone who was there but once again it seems that there were 'issues', so I was glad to be well clear of it.
norfolkfox222 Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 The song at 2-0 down..... '' This grounds a shit hole, i wanna go homeee., I wanna go hoooooome, this grounds a shit hole, i wanna go home.'' bloody hilarious!! Great support

Exactly the same thing happened to us there last season. Took 'em 45 minutes to leave us alone in the aisle and stop trying to kick out a dad and two kids from an allocated seat we didn't want to be in! The song at 2-0 down..... '' This grounds a shit hole, i wanna go homeee., I wanna go hoooooome, this grounds a shit hole, i wanna go home.'' bloody hilarious!! Great support It's alright, isn't that funny though. Worked OK at Barnsley, but people were singing it in the ground at half two at Bristol City?!?!

Worked OK at Barnsley, but people were singing it in the ground at half two at Bristol City?!?! That's the problem with out fans, we have a decent bunch who come out with some really good/funny chants, unfortuantly we have another bunch who sing anyt thing they once found remotely funny over and over again like a bunch of brain dead parrots, use them inaproperietly, and ruin it. Fair play to the traveling support if we were loud, I would of thought seeing John Useless score against you would be enough to stun any set of fans into silence.
tylesta Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Wasn't allowed to take a can of Sprite into the ground. Honestly, what damage can I do with a can of sprite. quite alot to be honest if i chucked a full can of sprite and it hit you on the head it wouldn't tiickle would it, also you can make a can in to a dangerous weapon ie a slashing weapon!

Maybes Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 If you're getting grief by an awayer sitter and they rope a steward in simply move to where the standers are - cram yourself into an isle/row and the jobs a good'un.
kimmy619 Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 I thought that the away support was really good, especially considering the fact that we were 2-0 down. Good old Stevie Howard did a good job at motivating the fans when he came on When we book our tickets, we specifically ask to be sat near to the back as we like to stand and sing at away matches. Away matches are the only time that we really get to experience a good atmosphere as we chose a good view over atmosphere when purhcasing our season tickets (we sit in B2. There would be more atmosphere in a morgue). We were stood on the left handside of the away fans and the majority of fans were standing, apart from the two people sat behind me who kept making loud comments about having to stand and not being able to see. My first point to them would be that if they wanted me to sit down, they could have just asked. Good manners cost nothing. Second, buy tickets nearer to the front of the stand (!) Seems obvious to me. Everyone knows that the majority of people near to the back like to stand, so why sit so near to the back if you want to sit?! To top it all off, they spoke about absolute shite for the whole match. My guinea pigs know more about football than those f**kwits. I saw the hornet come over and bang his drum for the Leicester fans. It was mission impossible for him trying to get the home fans going, even when they were 2-0 up.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Where I was, I thought the support was naff. The bit to our left was brilliant, yes. But where I was behind the goal, (1 row from the back) it was only our row and the row behind standing. Absolutely dreadful. Been to more than my fair share of away games, but there seemed to be a lot of nobs about for some reason. In that oddfellows there were a few, as well as at the game, with perhaps 3-4 absolutely wrecked who sat down, occasioanlly standing to yell abuse at other people to stand up. Only after I told him to shut up and stand up permanently did one of them seem to see the irony in what he was saying!
Tommeh Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Left side stand and create atmosphere and right side sit and its "naff", strange that. Seriously just move, allocated seats shouldn't mean a thing, the problem only really arises when we sell out ends and space is minimum, just barrel into a stood row, if now stay in the asle. If theres decent numbers of you and your not at leeds, you will be fine. Also ignore stewards at all times. Think my seats was row G or something on the right hand side yesterday, If i'd have sat there I'd probably have lasted 5 minutes beofre walking out.

Not been in my allocated seat for a long while. Just make sure if you do move you're moving into the right area

Ive got a slashing weapon in my trousers! Yes it would hurt, but some common sense is needed or they will take your programme away due to the fear of nasty papercuts!
LCFC_Josh Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 What Away games do you lot recon will have a good amount of standers and singers at?
BoneDog Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 What Away games do you lot recon will have a good amount of standers and singers at? Stoke in the 4th round after we've kept a clean sheet against Man City and Andy King's nodded one into the top corner and slotted another over the keepers waist in a one on one.
LCFC_Josh Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Just wondering dose any one know how the Safe standing campaignes going on the fsf and susd website?
Fosse Boy Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Just wondering dose any one know how the Safe standing campaignes going on the fsf and susd website? Latest update from SUSD: Area 1 – We campaign for a change in the rules so that all clubs are able to provide Safe Standing areas. Political area this one, involves words in the shell likes of a few key people. This however has been thrown in the air by two things; 1) The change in government 2) the abolishment of the FLA as we know it Believe it or not, for the first time in years we could of probably done with the FLA hanging around due to some fundamental changes which were on the cards. No it's all gone west and it's basically a waiting game seeing when the dust settles. Area 2 – We seek to work with individual clubs to encourage the better management of standing within all-seated stadia. This is perhaps the main one for the top two divisions and tbh something we're done little on at the moment. For me communication is the key to this one too as many fans across the board as possible. That's the internet for me. So I've raised again what we're doing in the FLA with regards to website redesign and forums, I'm awaiting a timeline and will report back. This is the area though which I think the people on this site will be at the forefront of. Area 3 – We campaign for the retention of standing areas, where they still exist. Chris Nash is doing some brilliant work in this area. In particular with S****horpe and he's uncovering some interesting back door rule changes. Updates on this issue can be found on the FSF website Area 4 – We work with supporters and clubs to find practical ways of including Safe Standing areas within new stadiums. Again Chris is heading this up and doing some good stuff - e.g. York City. However he and others can only do stuff about what they know, so if you hear of anything for areas 2 and 3 drop us a pm or send an email to the FSF So in summary, like always there's plenty going off but it's tightly aimed at the minute. Website and forum issues are dragging and I'm taking this up to see what the crack is, but the 2nd area is key for this place imo. As for the first, that will come with areas 2,3 and 4 being a success which will in turn convert popular opinion. However it WILL come down to men who do things sitting in a room and doing stuff.
