ashfosse Posted 4 December 2010 Posted 4 December 2010 thought our support wasn't all that great! i agree with previous posts that far too many people come to away games wanting to sit down. it spoils it for everyone who wants to stand and support the team. i witnessed several arguments today between people wanting to stand and people wanting to sit. BANISH THE PRAWN SANDWICH BRIGADE!! STAND AND SUPPORT YOUR TEAM!!

BANISH THE PRAWN SANDWICH BRIGADE!! STAND AND SUPPORT YOUR TEAM!! Although I do agree with most of your point, you cant stand up when everyone else around you is sat down. I was nearer the front than back today, and everyone around me was sat. One bloke wanted to stand and it caused chaos. Without meaning to drag up the whole standing arguement again, there are a few elderly people who go to matches as well as young kids, and if everyone stands up they cant see a thing. I like to stand but it just dependsw on where you are really and who is around you. The best way to sort out this problem is having unreserved seating liek at Barnsley, if you want to stand you go to the back, all the people who sit go to the front and thats what happened. No aguements, no hassle, no fuss.
1964FOX Posted 4 December 2010 Posted 4 December 2010 What I don't understand is people argueing, why don't they just swap seats. I was on the left side where everyone was standing. Decent noise today, Andy King song and Ericssons blue and White army seem to get the whole crowd going.
cambridgefox Posted 4 December 2010 Posted 4 December 2010 I will probably get shot down in flames for this, but i only get to about 10 games a season(part timer),but have been to Norwich and Watford away this season,i love away days for atmosphere, standing and the whole match day experience.im thinking about just doing my 10 or so games away and a few home games. At home its the norm to sit, hardly anyone sings for any length of time and for the distance i travel,i might aswell choose my matches where, apart from the result i had a cracking day!

BANISH THE PRAWN SANDWICH BRIGADE!! STAND AND SUPPORT YOUR TEAM!! Tell that to the 5 year old kid sat very near me who couldn't see when some neanderthals were standing up and refusing to sit down despite polite words from the family. I've no problems with standing whatsoever but get off your high horse, standing makes you no superior any fan who chooses to support their team how they wish. I was in the middle of the "infighting" today around rows B/C seats 60-70 ish. Absolutely laughable from all involved.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 4 December 2010 Posted 4 December 2010 Agree, we were great today. Our away supports been pretty decent all season
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 4 December 2010 Posted 4 December 2010 Our away support has improved dramatically. I think the Fosse Boys have had an impact on this, the non stop singing for long periods. Seem to get praised everywhere now. Must have one of the best away followings in the league.

Leeds fans are the best tho, don't let them see this because there heads might go further up there arses.
Swalker Posted 4 December 2010 Posted 4 December 2010 Fantastic support from the City today, made loads of noise even when we were losing. We created a great atmosphere and eventually the players started feeding off of it. Made up from the lack of support from the Watford fans.

Absolutely laughable from all involved. get off your high horse??? and your calling people neanderthals! thats a bit rich. didnt say anything about fan superiority so have no idea where you dragged that up from. totally agree that if a child cant physically see then people should realise that, but im talking about grown adults kicking up a massive fuss about wanting to sit down when people in front want to stand, is it really that hard to stand for 90 mins? bearing in mind you've been sitting down for the entire journey! if you don't like it then don't go. or sit in with the home fans. unreserved seating would solve all these issues. surely its how to do things. it would save the fans and the stewards a lot of aggro. and agreed the infighting today was a joke today and they were rightfully ejected.
lcfc_jme Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 At aways, common sense dictates that if you wish to sit down and see the entire game, you make your way to the front of the stand. We're MUCH more likely to be stood en masse away from home. Not exactly fvcking rocket science. Although saying that, infighting is an absolute fvcking joke and even more stupid than fighting with the other bunch. Absolutely mongtacular. Not that I'd ever have the problem, but if someone is SO bothered about a person standing infront of them, there should be a swift change of rows. Job's a good'un.

In my day this post would have gone straight into the bin. If someone can't remember the simple rules about conjugating a coherent sentence then it doesn't deserve to live on the internet. If anyone fancies looking up a definition of "Internet forum poster who has a brain consisting mainly of sputum and fecal coliform", don't bother. Just look at ashfosse's turdbucket of a post instead.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 I always stand, but couldnt due to row BB being at the front. The Likes of Norwich, Forest, Derby, Cardiff etc (All teams similar to us in numbers) on;y have about 3 rows sitting. Shocking how many people sit at our away games. Fair enough the old and disabled. All these 'cold' people, jump around abit youll soon be alright
Fosse Boy Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 I agree we must have one of the best. Leeds fans are the best tho, don't let them see this because there heads might go further up there arses. We can be up there with the best in this division on our day but what gets me is how inconsistent our away crowds are. To go from games like Burnley or Swansea when standers/singers (and there is a definite correlation) are in the minority to games like Palace or Bristol City where best part of everyone's up and on it is mad. We're streets behind Leeds in terms of away support. Pound for pound they're probably the best in the country. Glad to hear the atmosphere was decent today. Sounded good on the radio as I was going to work. Shame our songbook seems to be so limited though. We have some class chantss that go by the wayside for simpler, more generic ones.
AmericanScott Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Thought our support was fantastic! Had a right laugh on train home. Watford fans were piss poor. Didn't hear fook all from um until 90th minute. Useless dive of a town.
Swalker Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 I have to say that we created a great atmosphere today and I would have thought we made it seem on the radio as though we were the home team

lou Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Used to love going to Watford but their stewards have turned into absolute ****tards over the last few years... might not bother next season. 3 toilets for the whole away end (females) is a fecking joke too!!! Not good when youve been on the Bacardi all day

I do see where you're coming from regarding moving seats but there is ALOT of stubborn fans that when they go away sit in their designated seat and if someone is restricting their view then they complain, which whether you agree with or not, they have a right to do. Unreserved seating works so much better in away ends.

I prefer to stand but couldnt yesterday as we werent allowed to move due to Nazi stewarding and lack of space at the back but thats life... I dont have the God given right to stand up at games and neither does anyone else. Im there to watch a game of football primarily. I wouldnt dream of standing up in front of someone who wanted to sit. Standing areas or unreserved seating is definately the answer
Dylan Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Wasn't allowed to take a can of Sprite into the ground. Honestly, what damage can I do with a can of sprite.
Matt Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 1st half thought it was quite poor, but I was down the front and due to beer (and a shite 1st half performance) I was about falling asleep and feeling slighty ill, 2nd half was abit better I myself had livened up, we played better, got ourselves back into the game, and it was abit better around where I sat, still not as amazing as some are making out though, that said it might be due to where I was sat - down the front, in the middle where I have read was the poorest part of our support yesterday.

I thought it was poor compared to most away days... it just seemed better to some due to the Watford fans being so quet
1964FOX Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Was it just me but did their hornet mascot get so pissed off with the lack of noise at the home end that he came down with his drum to our end and started drumming with us, we joined in and he continued until one of the stewards told him to stop and sent him back up his own end
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Was it just me but did their hornet mascot get so pissed off with the lack of noise at the home end that he came down with his drum to our end and started drumming with us, we joined in and he continued until one of the stewards told him to stop and sent him back up his own end I thought that was odd too. An indictment on their whole support really.
