Dan Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Are there any grounds in the championship that has a away Terrace a part from peterborugh? There isn't an away terrace in the division. What I really don't get with our away support, and the majority in fact - people say "yes well the old people want to sit", well, if that's the case, howcome Leeds will take 6,500 to Coventry and not have a single one sat? You're telling me there isn't one old person in there? I do believe our away support is a lot better than last year though, it must be said.
kimmy619 Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 I think that you can get away with standing at most away games as long as there are enough of you, apart from Leeds that is! I sent a strongly worded email to them after the last match at Elland Road to complain about the tyrannical female steward and they didn't even acknowledge my email with a response. It doesn't bother me if people don't want to stand and I accept that it doesn't make them any less of a fan than the rest of us. It just annoys me when the sitters get tickets near the back and then proceed to moan about people standing!!

Secondly, they've a bigger support base than ours - its' only natural that they will also have a bigger volume of singing fans. At the end of the day some people don't go to the football to sing and who gives a toss? It's their prerogative. I love a good atmosphere at the football, I do, but I typically leave it to most everyone else to create. I've been to a few aways, particularly in London when I was living there, and I've sung at times, sure. But I also have a habit (home and away) to be the sort of person that sits on the edge of his seat, staring intently at every single movement on the pitch, enthralled. Half the time I don't even notice there's singing going on - you could be sat flicking my ear and I probably wouldn't notice. It's almost becoming cliché on here to say it - but different strokes for different folks.
phillthefox Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 I was about 8 rows from front behind goal and apart from roof pissin water all game and getting soaked, was told to sit down every time i stood by people who just sit and dont sing, there was some in fighting near us as a few lads were standing a group of oldies sitting all wrapped up couldnt see, one took his coat off and was offering anyone out who stood up, what a N0B.. Prefer unreserved seating so those who stand like myself can go to the back and dont upset others who want to sit...
tylesta Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Tell me you are joking? i for one wouldn't like a full can of pop to hit me on the head, slashing weapon maybe ott but hey there are some dodgy people about, cans of pop have been band from football grounds for many years, i remember going filbert street and the band items board had can of pop i asked my dad and he told me the same as i have said, on the other hand your saying im having a laugh about the can...... a 2p coin can cause damage if hit in the eye

Common sense has to come into play, if you can find any incident of somebody being harmed by a drinks can whilst in a game of football i'll be amazed.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 Left side stand and create atmosphere and right side sit and its "naff", strange that. Seriously just move, allocated seats shouldn't mean a thing, the problem only really arises when we sell out ends and space is minimum, just barrel into a stood row, if now stay in the asle. If theres decent numbers of you and your not at leeds, you will be fine. Also ignore stewards at all times. Think my seats was row G or something on the right hand side yesterday, If i'd have sat there I'd probably have lasted 5 minutes beofre walking out. The right hand side WAS naff. I was on Row x. Every single row in front of me to pitchside were sat down. There were 3 of us and the whole back row standing. Thats all. Even some next to me on row x were sat. We thought about going to the left side at half time, but it looked too rammed and seeing that the steward asked to see my ticket when I went up to row x before the game, i presumed they were quite strict on where they sat.
LCFC_Josh Posted 9 December 2010 Posted 9 December 2010 Dose anyone no if S****horpe are allowed to keep their standing?
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 9 December 2010 Posted 9 December 2010 Dose anyone no if S****horpe are allowed to keep their standing? Not as of right now, but they're actively campaigning to be allowed, and I would like to refer you to: The FSF campaign page Don Foster MP's Ten Minute Rule bill on standing, which mentions S****horpe The FSF's response to the bill, asking people to write to their MP to show support.
