dannythefox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 kirkland thats 3 games played, 7 let in **** off back, your shit and your the biggest waste of 120grand we've even spent! leicester fans sort your life out if you think hes the answer to us!
stivesfox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Kirkland has been a bad Gamble!! Weale has made mistakes but count the number of good games he has had, people were raving how great Weale was in the summer and nearly joined West Ham. Personally 120k wasted, would rather have given that 120k to the radio leicester mongol callers to piss off out on a saturday to stop them calling in!! I wasnt impressed with Kirkland at Ipswich sod the pitch, the best keeper we had was playing at the other end of the field Mr Fulop
J.Lisemore Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Not long got back. I don't care what anyone says, Roman Bednar was an absolute clown today. Bit embarrassing for Kirkland to be substituted at half-time, although he looked really shaky.
themotivator Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 the problem with kirkland is that he may be a good keeper for all we know, but he doesnt exactly cut the figure of a reliable, commanding, hero. i cant see how he can instill any confidence at all for the defenders when the look over their shoulder and see him trembling between the sticks pasty faced and rubbing his sore back. he would need to assert himself over time and build a level of confidence up with his team mates, but it doesnt look like his fitness levells or short time on loan will allow him to do that.
dannythefox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 The keeper is not our problem i keep saying this but noone agrees. We NEED a striker thats inform NOW! Keep Weale in goal hes a great keeper.#, the goalys not the problem.
Swalker Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 He knows his way back to Wigan. He can go. Simply not as good as weale whether that is just because he is injuries I don't know. But he can go home, reminded me of rab Douglas on saturday
Kingy_85 Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Weale is very average. Fans like him because we have a chant for him which they remember. Kirkland is an ex England International and far better goalkeeper. He's had a few shaky games, why does everyone judge players (and managers) on 1 or 2 games?!! It's getting ridiculous!! Sven should have a year before people even begin to question his team and his results! Bednar has been here a few games and he was getting booed today, it's fooking laughable. Howard was just as useless against leeds! Ridiculous! Sousa should have had more time as well! We could win League 1 again !
David Guiza Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 There are so many idiots on here. Kirkland may not be the answer but he is far from the problem. How can you blame any of the goals that were scored today on him? An un challeneged shot from all off 8 yards and Puncheon was allowed to walk past our back 4 and finish well. He may not be the same player he was but chanting Weale's name is stupid. He himself was under critism by the same morons at Bristol City and Watford just to name 2 examples.
Edmund Posted 29 December 2010 Author Posted 29 December 2010 I think people are more concerned about the constant injuries. Although he may have not been at fault for the goals, has he really given us a better option than Weale? The general consensus is no
Guest Mee-9 Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Keepers only as good as his defence. Saying this though, his loan spell here, has been pretty disasterous. Injury plagued, Leaking goals left right and centre. Send him back. Stick with Weale. Give him abit more confidence, once we're sured up at the back.

Howard was just as useless against leeds! Ridiculous! It is different for a GK though they don't need to develop partnerships and form understandings with players in the same way as other positions. Kirkland has looked poor, and with his injury problems, he is not the answer. If Sven doesn't have faith in Weale then bring in a permanent quality replacement, if not back him to do a job, at this level and replace him when we get promoted. We know he is good enough at this level from last year.
lcfc_jme Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Van der Sar or Cech would've had a 'mare playing behind our defence in the first half today. Unless Kirkland was genuinely injured, we royally dropped a bollock and wasted a substitution bringing him off.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 he's played 3 games and conceded 7 goals, cant acctually think of a save hes made heard somebody say today that hes on 25k a week!! shocking for a so called 'premier leauge' goalkeeper who even has an england cap, not once have i seen him move off his line and claim a corner or a cross, how can a back line feel secure when you know you have a goalkeeper that doesnt acctually save a shot or come out and claim anything whipped into the box send him back.
Asha Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Neither Weale or Kirkland are good enough. A decent keeper should be a priority in January. Realistic targets I think would include Joe Lewis, Scott Loach, Dorus De Vries, Julian Speroni, Keiren Westwood ? Dorus De Vries? Swansea could well be premiership bound, why would he take the drop to a team languishing in the bottom eight of the division?

Sven should have a year before people even begin to question his team and his results! Bednar has been here a few games and he was getting booed today, it's fooking laughable. Howard was just as useless against leeds! Ridiculous! Kirkland's barely made a save in 2 and a half games and conceded 7 goals, some of which you would expect an ex-England international to save. Shots fly past him from anywhere and everywhere, they don't even need to go anywhere near the corner of the goal to beat him. He cannot catch a cross to save his life and his starting position shows he's either afraid of coming out or can't read the game. Kirkland's a real disappointment. :Like an electric toy with no batteries. Can't really remember him making any saves of note. Just picking the ball out of the net and his dancing-on-ice bit on the edge of the box at Ipswich. I call him McCavity. Cos whenever there's a cross comes over McCavity's Not there. They say he's a good shot stopper but seven goals conceded in three games says something rather less complimentary and probably explains his bad back. As for his distribution well, with reliability being so important, I can't see Tesco wanting him. Thrac - it's been a long time coming but I completely agree. His kicking is hopeless, he barely manages the half way line at times and as for accuracy, well that's just pot-luck with Kirkland. he's played 3 games and conceded 7 goals, cant acctually think of a save hes made heard somebody say today that hes on 25k a week!! shocking for a so called 'premier leauge' goalkeeper who even has an england cap, not once have i seen him move off his line and claim a corner or a cross, how can a back line feel secure when you know you have a goalkeeper that doesnt acctually save a shot or come out and claim anything whipped into the box send him back. Precisely.
Petchy Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Even if Buffon joined us, you lot would find fault with him and put blame on him. Fact is, you can't hold him solely responsible when the whole defensive unit was a shambles.
