Edmund Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Personally think we should cancel his loan and just play Weale now. Can't rely on a keeper constantly getting injured. Still think Weale was hard done by losing his place.
Fox92 Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Always liked him as a goalkeeper throughout his career but I do agree. If this is going to happen and we are wasting substitutions that we could use for forwards to come on, whats the point?

Still think Weale was hard done by losing his place. Completely agree. We need to back Weale from now on There has been far too much disruption to our defence, rightly or wrongly, but it is having a negative effect!
Edmund Posted 28 December 2010 Author Posted 28 December 2010 weale or given Let's be real, Given isn't going to be coming here. He could walk into the likes of Arsenals first team.
cc_star Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 He's no better than Weale, and the whole sorry loan signing has only succeeded in taking Weale's confidence down a notch Weale is competent at the level and if you want to improve on that it will take a few million, like Fulop
rico Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 doesn't look like its going to happen for him or Bednar here, send the buggers back
Captain... Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 I siad this when we were first linked with Kirkland. We should be signing someone better or backing Weale, now Weale is low on confidence and feels unwanted by the club.
sdb Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 I don't think Weale was hard done by, but Kirkland aint the answer.
Ziggy1990 Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 I don't think Weale was hard done by, but Kirkland aint the answer. Seconded
nickelbyfox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Feel sorry for Kirkland, really was a gamble to see if he could reproduce his best, but just seems injury has taken its toll!

Still think Weale was hard done by losing his place. Yep. He hasn't had a decent run in the team all season - Logan, Ikeme and Kirkland all nicking games off of him and none of them proving themselves any better than him. Given time to settle back into the team he would be fine and we don't need to be wasting money on surplus goalkeepers.
themotivator Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Let's be real, Given isn't going to be coming here. He could walk into the likes of Arsenals first team. SUBO taught me to follow your dreams, no matter how distant they seem! p.s. man city wouldnt allow him to go to arsenal in a squillion years.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Neither Weale or Kirkland are good enough. A decent keeper should be a priority in January. Realistic targets I think would include Joe Lewis, Scott Loach, Dorus De Vries, Julian Speroni, Keiren Westwood ?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Kirkland was poor today, and in the three games he has played in, he has looked poor at best. I'd send him back now, Weale gives me much ore confidence and we need a settled back line with a consistently fit keeper.
phillthefox Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 kirkland was poor today at millwall, althought others didnt help his cause, hobbs for second goal????? but i agree he is no better than weale and we should send him back, but dont get me started on bednar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
foxychik Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 I really wanted Kirland to do well him being a local boy and all that, but at the end of the day I think Weale has been hard done to, I'm no stato but this season haven't we been so much better with him in goal ? he was injured for most of Sousa's reign if I remember right. I dont think he has done anything to deserve being dropped this season
BrummieFOX Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Weale is very average. Fans like him because we have a chant for him which they remember. Kirkland is an ex England International and far better goalkeeper. He's had a few shaky games, why does everyone judge players (and managers) on 1 or 2 games?!! It's getting ridiculous!! Sven should have a year before people even begin to question his team and his results! Bednar has been here a few games and he was getting booed today, it's fooking laughable. Howard was just as useless against leeds! Ridiculous!

I always thought kirkland was England class but maybe that's in the past now. You can't really suggest he's looked better than Weale since he's been here. Bednar was being booed because he isn't trying, I'd say that's perfectly fair.
Thracian Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Kirkland's a real disappointment. :Like an electric toy with no batteries. Can't really remember him making any saves of note. Just picking the ball out of the net and his dancing-on-ice bit on the edge of the box at Ipswich. I call him McCavity. Cos whenever there's a cross comes over McCavity's Not there. They say he's a good shot stopper but seven goals conceded in three games says something rather less complimentary and probably explains his bad back. As for his distribution well, with reliability being so important, I can't see Tesco wanting him. What does that leave? Good positional sense? Can't fault him there. He got his name in front of Sven as being available so I'd give him 10/10 for that one.

I remember the 9-1 loss at Spurs - he just kept falling over or it went through his legs. Having said that he never seems to make many errors which is the most important thing in a goalkeeper. He's looked nothing like the keeper I thought him to be in the past.

B52 Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Well, am I the only one believing the defence and goalkeeper are a unit. If one part fails, they as a whole unit is to blame.....

There's more bad jokes in that short post than i've found in the entireity of my crimbo crackers this year.
