Why does it matter so much nowadays if a centre back is right or left footed?

Because the opposition will be exposing the ball onto your weaker foot.

If you are right footed and playing on the left, the ball is invariably played to your left side meaning you are either having to run around the ball to use your stronger foot or using your weaker one which some professional footballers seem to have a problem doing these days. Coupled with this is the natural feel to show a man onto your inside rather than outside (see Hobbs v Tevez, first goal in the cup replay).

did you see Ben mee on saturday? lol

seriously though, that lad just needs time.

as for Morales..... its a very continental name and sounds very skillful... that alone could be p;art of Svens plan to intimidate the opposition with a team that sounds very skillfull and exotic... if we SOUND good surely thats half the battle won?

We aint got time to mollycoddle green horn defenders, we buy them in good to go!!!!

Honduras international Erick Norales is keen to win a move to Leicester City after linking up with the Championship club.

The 25-year-old defender has flown to England to undergo a trial with Sven Goran Eriksson's ambitious side ahead of a possible loan move.

Norales did not participate in Friday's semi-final clash against El Salvador in the Central American Cup in Panama in order to link up with The Foxes.

It is understood that the Marathon stopper could join Leicester on loan for the remainder of the season with the club having the option of sealing a permanent move in the summer.

Norales is hoping to join compatriots Wilson Palacios, Maynor Figueroa, Hendry Thomas and Ramon Nunez by winning a contract with an English club.

"Leicester have given me a chance now I have to take it," Norales told tiempo.hn.

"I have the opportunity to leave and go to a major league where every player wants to play."

Meanwhile, Leicester will not be signing South Africa international Bernard Parker after the Twente man was loaned to Greek outfit Panserraikos for the remainder of the season

Thanks. I have a hard time understanding why modern footballers can't teach themselves to use their weaker foot reasonably well.

He's a left footed center back, can also play left back.

Are you sure? Would be good if that is the case...

In the good old days, the centre half had to cover the centre forward, whichever side he went !

Some back 4s still try to play this way, one of the center backs, (the physical one) makes it his job to be first to attack the ball, the other (quicker footballing one) tidies up the bits and pieces that result.

Terry and Ferdinand for England were a great modern example, when at their best (a few years ago) anyway.

Now we have Curtis, surely we don't need another CB?

Davies, Bamba, Hobbs, Vitor, Mee, Tunchev

davis, vitor and mee are all loanees, tunchev wont pay again that leaves bamba and hobbs next season. If we sign this guy i cant see it being bad.

Feel sorry for tunchev even if he makes it back chances r he wont ever be the same player he was and chances of a reoccurrance bossed our defence him and bamba would be best in the league
