That's not what I meant but, yeah, we'll probably end up on the same side of the draw. England have landed the most ridiculously easy group, Argentina are your first seed which means despite being seeded second you should really be the strongest team in your group. Jammy, jammy bastards.

We got, arguably, the group of death with South Africa, Fiji and Samoa. Assuming we come second in that then we'd be on the same side of the draw. If we were to somehow top that group or if England were to lose to Argentina then we'd not meet until the final.

The likelihood, however, is that we will lose to Australia in the quarter finals and you will lose to France in the quarter finals and neither of us will get anywhere.

Behave Finners, Fiji and Samoa and the words group of death have never been heard together !!! You should hammer both by 20 points but the Welsh major tounament mentality will kick in and you'll make it hard work for yourselfs.

Fiji and Samoa are not to be mocked, certainly not in their own hemisphere. I'd rather face Italy or Scotland than either of them.

What basis we going on ?? The only team Fiji have beaten at home in the last 2 years is Japan. They have been beaten by Tonga, Samoa, Australia A and New Zealand Maori. Infact they that only played 8 tests since they beat you in the last world cup.

England's group should pose no problems whatsoever but with the likelihood of facing Australia or France in the quarter-finals, it'll be a big ask to go further.

I reckon Finners is right about Fiji and Samoa, both sides filled with absolute beasts who hit hard and can cause anyone problems on their day.

And as long as Wales don't choke both will be on the 1st plane home

And how many games have Italy won against serious competition in the same period? Fiji are a solid, hard hitting side with much more creative backs than the Italians and they draw a lot of their players from the French Top 14.

Let's be realistic, we're obviously not talking "group of death" in the same way as getting put in with the Czech Republic, Holland and France in football but that's about as close to a genuine challenge as you get in the rugby world cup.

Its not even a group of terminal illness !!

Can't even remember the Fijians ever beating a major rugby playing nation at a world cup

I always cheer for the Aussies, unless they're playing us. Australia and France are probably my favourite sides, domestically or internationally, with the obvious excepts of the Scarlets and Wales.

They're both flawed but they're both just wonderfully expressive on form with some disgustingly flair players. It's a bit gutting (though at the same time, fucking scary) that Vincent Clerc can't get in the French side at the moment. At his best I fancy he's one of the best two or three wingers in the world.

 I was actually spewing that i left Leicester a week before we played Tigers at Welford road. Did you go and see them?

Finners regarding our comment that Fiji are a tough prospect your having a laugh, Melbourne Rebels flogged them the other week in there 3rd ever trial match

I thought Scotland played well enough but conceding an early try put them on the back foot straight away and to be within an chance of a result they needed to keep the scoring low/ close. Accepting that France can be unplayable, that try stopped them from fooking about and gave them the freedom to play as they can.

Screw you, Roo - not supporting the Aussies any more...

Even if they're playing England!

I always support the underdog so 99/100 i'll be supporting Scotland

I did, it was a bit of a disappointing game to be honest.

England are playing some lovely stuff here. Deserved lead. I hope this doesn't precipitate an Italian collapse as it's been a good game so far.

England are looking ridiculously good to be honest.

Movement, passing and pace are all a cut above. I can't imagine France and Scotland are looking forward to their trips to Twickenham.

ominous start to the 6 nations by England.... more than adequate performance against Wales and a solid display against an Italy side who pushed france hard in their opening game...

Don't you mean Ireland? Or are you talking about a previous 6N competition?

when scotland played Samoa in 2010 they beat Samoa by 3 points. beat Fiji in 2009 by 23 -10. Although i do understand they might be tougher opposition down in NZ.

I think the fear Wales will have will be the physicality of both teams - they could pick up some injuries in their group games which might make a difference for the 1/4's
