lol

not gonna get to me, we avoided the wooden spoon so i'm happy.

Not trying to bait you. Don't give a shit about trying to bait you. Just a fact, it could be significantly worse.

Could be significantly better, too, mind. Oh well. I'll take some bitter pleasure from the fact that England still haven't won a Grand Slam since '03 and we've done two in that time.

fair enough - thought you were taking the piss (which tbf is a pretty reasonable thought - you're usually taking the piss out of someone).

Great presentation that.

Boring day really, all of it was so inevitable and non eventful really.

Really thought Wales would of put more of a fight... got a bit closer to France

I'd hoped and I probably got a bit carried away in the spirit of it all earlier with Ireland rousing to thump the English.

But if you'd asked me, honestly, for my predictions yesterday I'd have said that Ireland would probably win by two or three points and that Wales would bottle it and fold if France actually turned up.

Off to buy my all blacks shirt for the world cup

Not a chance, they'll choke as they always do - even if it is at home.

(gritted teeth) England deserved to win. They were most consistent team throughout.

ABs will win the WC unless they're stopped by a genuinely herculean performance.

They won't choke this time out, you can quote me on that.

I would love it if one of the so called smaller teams would have a great tournament and get to the Semi's i would love to see Samoa or even Tonga in the semi's against the all blacks with a double haka style stand off :D Unlikely though of course... Tonga are in new zealands group , i think... they'll probably have a good couple of games get a couple of players sent off for outrageously late tackles pack up and go home .Think fiji do a haka -esque thing aswell dont they?

My outside tip for a semi final spot is Argentina.

I wonder if we will see a couple of spirited performances from Japan... you know... great applause taking to the field after recent events, ect..... thats if they still enter a team.. It would be stuff of dreams to see them play an out of sorts france..... but yes. its a complete dream.

All of the Polynesian nations have a war dance of sorts.

They're all a lot more genuine because it's actually done by genuine Polynesian athletes, there's something weird about seeing white ABs doing the Haka.

That said, because they're more genuine and less theatrical they aren't quite as cool, haha.

Anyway, you can't beat this:

Just watched that.... :D good response indeed....

Loved Richard cockerall's response too in his first international start! lol

Martin Johnson: " cockers... what the **** have you done!" lol

We need an English equivalent... we could do a Morris dance! man! that would scare the crap out of the opposition!!! really put the willies up them....

Cockers was amusing but I honestly believe the one in Cardiff was the best Haka response I've ever seen. I know I'm a little bit biased but it genuinely made me proud. Massively vocal support from the crowd and a good, respectful but dignified way of replying to - basically - your enemy walking in to your home and making a threat.

It worked, as well. I mean they won the game after running away with it in the second half, but we started very brightly and they were really shaken at the start of the match.

Edit: Well done Andrea Masi!

well we got a 26-26 draw against them in the cockers game so his was pretty effective too :D

one of the irish stood up to them aswell... cant remember who...

If i remember correctly they brought out a stupid rule where you now have to keep a certain distance from the all blacks when they are doing the haka..... crazy decision. they can fire themselves up but we cant fire ourselves up? lovely bit of justice.

It must be said that most attempts to "respond" to the Haka end in massively getting it wrong. Pretty sure the Aussies once held a training session down the other end of the pitch, ignoring it, and got smashed. lol

i'd be tempted to line up everyone right on the half way line and as soon as they start the Haka just everyone turn their back on them and then fold their arms. you'll either lose 68-0 or one of them will get sent off in the 1st minute. either way... something different! lol

Well no because that's just ignoring it, it's been done before, or variations of that have.

I personally think people should respond in whatever manner is culturally appropriate. I mean it's a challenge, why not accept it?

It really annoyed me when a few of the Polynesian ABs came out and whinged about it and considered it disrespectful that the Welsh crowd cheered through it and then we stared them down until they backed off. I'm sorry but how much of a weed do you have to be to get offended by that?

It's a war dance, by it's very nature it's an aggressive challenge. Don't moan if someone squares up.

I think to turn your back on someone is more than just ignoring someone... its a purposeful action wrather than just not responding... its much more insulting to turn your back on someone... probably make them furious...

One thing that does bug me.. is when people complain at responses to the Haka like you said... i mean come on.... TThe Haka clearly fires up the team - they have said that... do they think they are so special that they are the only ones to do any mind games before any game? Lets be honest.... thats essentially all it is... a mind game to try and gain an advantage.... If it was that culturally important the the footy team, the cricket team every other sport team would be doing it aswell from that specific country....
