Finnegan Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 send lots of old grannies out with big handbags to beat the shite out of them , like that woman in nothants last week My favourite was a corner shop owner in the Metro about a year ago who got rid of robbers by throwing a hot cup of tea.
MC Prussian Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 I got robbed five years ago in Vancouver, BC. All my valuables were gone. Someone in the same apartment complex, who later turned out to be a complete messie and drug addict, broke into my (locked) room one day whilst I was at school. I came back that night to find the light still on in my room (which took me by surprise), but the biggest surprise was the fist-big hole the freak had punched into my door in order to unlock it from the inside. So, I know what it feels like being a victim. The shock, the speechlessness, the frustration and all that. I did call the police immediately, an officer came 'round about an hour later. All he had to say to me is "Don't worth the bother". Police these days don't care about "simple", basic crimes like this. In a way I understand it, they got bigger issues to deal with. Luckily, I had insurance. What took the biscuit, however, was the fact that police charged me an extra $50 for the required police report. Talking about taking it from the living.

Wycombe Fox Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 Sorry to hear about this Thracian - hope your wife's OK. Sadly I would doubt anything will be done about it but please post with any progress. About 12 years ago and through police indifference, I had to take matters into my own hands, Shouldn't have had to though. Worked out OK - got my property back when they allegedly had no time to deal with it.

They've said they'll interview a couple of the witnesses to see if they can close down on the four people I mentioned yesterday. At least my wife feels reassured that some effort is being made and that's put her in a happier frame of mind which is a big relief to me given what she's been through. Every journey starts with the first step!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 2 March 2011 Posted 2 March 2011 It's marvellous how many dozens of police turn out for a low-key Saturday football match when there's overtime on offer and yet you can't get one to find the market place when a handbag's been nicked. i understand your frustration buddy (and i hope the bar stewards are caught) but i like sosban Fach have a very good, close friend of mine who works for the Police, i can assure you they (the Police) dont work like that, the lad i know does loads of overtime but very rarely for pay as they (the Police Force) cant afford (or rather never authorise it) to pay them - honestly!! My mates wife (a civilian member of the Police) has been told recently that her job is under threat as well documented in the Mercury. - Its a job ive been told that is at the moment underfunded, undervalued and stretched to the limit.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 2 March 2011 Posted 2 March 2011 was probably the same person that took my Mobile phone outside the walkers
