markbsac Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 when sven took over we were rock bottom..we now sit 10th and may finish higher....the night we went rock bottom i had notts forest fans gloating and taking the piss out of me......they say nothing now, so thanks sven..we will have another season in the championship..hopefully storm the league by signing quality players and sven will be able to work with them all summer. AND WE AINT GETTING RELEGATED ! thanks sven.
millzi Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 I totally agree! At the start of the season we were staring League 1 right in the face, if someone had have said finish in 10th place after our first 9 games I would have ripped their hand off and taken it! I don't think we are ready for the Premier League yet anyway, I only fear we would do a dreaded Direby!
ithuriel Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 It is purely disappointment that Sven got us to within touching distance of the play offs and the team has been found wanting when playing against teams in the top six at the crunch time of the season. Disappointment leads to anger, anger leads to hate, to the dark side this leads
samlcfc Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 I said this to a friend yesterday. Hes done a good job and I look forward to what hell do with his first full season in charge. Being in the position we were in, I didnt expect the season to go as well as it has done. Coming from the bottom of the league it was always going to be the case that to get into the top 6 we'd have to go without any bad patches. I think people will just find it a bitter pill that weve come so close and are now unlikely to achieve it. Everyone will be fine soon when they realise the decent situation were in
markbsac Posted 9 March 2011 Author Posted 9 March 2011 we are lcfc fans so therefore will never be happy good point
Liamlcfc1 Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Agree mate and whos to say the top six teams wont have slip ups and us get into the play-offs
dave the caveman Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 The future is brighter than at any point since this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/fa_carling_premiership/666908.stm
Christoph Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 I agree. I think if we were to go up it would be very difficult to stay up so in a way this is a blessing in disguise. One whole season with Sven to work on will do well and we'll certainly be favourites to be top 6 next year. I think even if we did get to the play offs we wouldnt win it (and personally compared to the other teams probably dont deserve it as much).
Leicester_Loyal Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Never thought we'd get play offs, thought we might make the top 8 though. Next season will be the season, with Sven at the helm and him signing who he wants, we'll go up. Hopefully theres nobody moaning next year when Sven ships out the crap players and signs them with better ones. Theres no room for sentiments in football. Except for Kingy!

Corky Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 I'm disappointed we've slipped back in the last two weeks, but I've seen enough this season to suggest we are making progress. Hopefully with a full pre-season and an opportunity to have the players he wants, Sven can give us a promotion challenge next year, from the start in August.
Mack Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Whilst I admire the sentiment here is what worries me. Yakubu, Van Arnholt, Mee, Bruma and worst of all Naughton all loans. So come the summer without promotion I guess none of these will be too keen to sign thus leaving us with no defence and requiring a new leading light in attack. Vassell's contract will also be up in the summer. Some smaller prem clubs will also be knocking for King & Wellens. And add to all that Sven no doubt getting some offers in the summer and we could be back to square one and worse now having sold Fryatt. I am hoping I am wrong but people who are saying build on this season, how can we with so many loans?

We've moved on. Anyway, the way I see it, it's likely we'll sign Yak and Mee. Yak's unsettled at Everton, and Mee is very unlikely to get in to the first team at Man City. We'd face competition from other clubs I reckon if we tried to buy Mee. On the proviso that Naughton wants to come to us, the only thing left would be if we gave enough money to Tottenham, and I can't see him going cheap.

topharry123 Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Too right, it's been an alright season. A little disappointing that we couldn't keep up the amazing form but based on where we were at the start it's been a pretty decent season. It's also not over yet, anything could happen in the next few games !! And honestly, if we had have gone up would we have stayed up? Not with this team. We're a good championship team but I don't think we could do it in the PL. If Sven is able to build a decent squad in the summer, I have no doubt he can get us up and then keep us up.

The whole short termist approach this season was obviously because we'd no idea what league we were to be in next year.
Haydos Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Of course it's either we're fooking brilliant or we're fooking shite, nothing in between with the morons on here. Was never expecting playoffs, bulit up hope this year which has now faded. Disappointed? Yes. Let down/angry/sven out? Just no.

I am talking about the players contracted to us that we will have come the summer, when the loans go back. When you strip out the loans and take out the few on end of season contracts what is there to build on? That is my point. Everything at the club was geared up for quick success, including the Manager.

We werent saying that a few weeks ago, when we were on fire, we were unbeatable not that long ago Sven changed a winning team, and its gone tits up from then on

CupidStunt Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 What we got ere..Another smart arse No one is disputing that, the point i was making was he had a formula that was working, he tinkered a bit,and it didnt work
