Ric Flair Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 The greatest week of Jump Racing of the year starts next Tuesday. I cannot wait, especially as Leicester have turned in to a bunch of shithouses, this will take my mind off things with some hefty erratic bets. I can't see Albertas Run doing it again this year but I have a few fancies that I hope will keep me going for the week. The Gold Cup on the Friday is wide open this year, Kauto Star and Denman will be biggish odds for the first time in years, Imperial Commander has only managed one run so far this season but does go well when fresh and Long Run, although has beaten Kauto in the King George, has doubts about whether it's good enough for Cheltenham up the hill. Could be an outsider wins this, which will make fanscinating viewing and plotting. I'll post them up nearer the time when enries are confirmed in the races. We should do a competition for fun, do a points scoring for winners and places for each race and the winner get's the privelidge of knowing that had they probably placed money on all their selections they'd be rich. GAME ON
Matt Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Ah love it. Cannot wait! Was out of work last year and watched the whole week, had a terrible week off betting, but on the last day Imperial Commander came good for me and put me into profit for the week! Was tempted to book the week of work but I'm running out of holiday so can't really, abit gutted, looks like I'll be placing bets on my iPhone and listening to my DAB radio. Time to start studying I think, can't wait.
Matt Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 Paul Nicholls to have 3 or more winners - 11/4. (Skybet) Very tempting to lump on.

Like this idea. What would you suggest..Just posting up a load of selections and seeing who gets the most winners or some sort of imaginary budget scenario (say 500quid)?
Matt Posted 13 March 2011 Posted 13 March 2011 Paul Nicholls to have 3 or more winners - 11/4. (Skybet) Very tempting to lump on. That's money in your pocket. Ah! Just found out it's to have 3 winners from the 4 big races, so not quite as good as first thought, Might not be lumping on now! Knew that was too good to be true.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 13 March 2011 Posted 13 March 2011 Anyone seen any good offers / new account offers about? (Please discount Paddypower, Betfair, Ladbrokes, Bet 118 and Coral for new accounts - I already have accounts with those) Looking forward to it, booked 4 days off work and may actually go to the course for one of the days. Hopefully Bert will post enough tips to help me break even at least! Whats peoples thought's on the first day - I've looked at the first 3 races so far and found it quite difficult to settle on certain choices but I'm thinking Sprinter Sacre (although disapointed to hear Geraghty wasn't riding, but then you've got McCoy on his back) Ghizao and then Pipe's Great Endeavour.
fox123 Posted 13 March 2011 Posted 13 March 2011 http://www.oddschecker.com/free-bets.html Binocular out of Champion Hurdle.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 13 March 2011 Posted 13 March 2011 http://www.oddschecker.com/free-bets.html Binocular out of Champion Hurdle. Cheers foxy - might go with Bet365, there offer appears interesting.
Ric Flair Posted 14 March 2011 Author Posted 14 March 2011 My big fancy even before Binocular pulling out is Oscar Whiskey. I just think the horse is fantastic and I got 14/1 last week for it. Not sure what it'll be at come tomorrow but I suppose Menorah is now the one to beat who is another horse I love but at the odds it's at i'm taking Oscar at £10 e/w
Ric Flair Posted 14 March 2011 Author Posted 14 March 2011 Get the sun today. A great pullout. Already got it son, good call. Racing Post has gone up to £2.00, I swear they've done that just for Chelts. It was £1.80 a couple of weeks ago. By the way. Aiteen Thirtythree is going to run a very big race on wednesday. Ruby will soon be confirmed to ride it and then the odds will be slashed so get on NOW.
Ric Flair Posted 14 March 2011 Author Posted 14 March 2011 Right, i've stolen the format for a Chelts Competition from Bentley's Roof, hope they don't mind. Each Day you've got a theoretical bank of £100 (points) to stake on the first 6 of the daily races which form the challenge. On horses that you fancy more, you can choose to increase your stake, and have a smaller amount on those you are not so keen on. However, you MUST select a horse in every race of the 6. You can't carry over any unused stakes to the next day if you dont use it that day you'll lose it. Selections are win only and settled at Starting Price. Minimum stake for each race is 10 points, please submit whole numbers only. Non-Runners may be changed prior to the race Dead-Heats - Both Horses will score in full EXAMPLE ONLY - How to do a daily entry Race 1 HORSES NAME 20 Race 2 HORSES NAME 10 Race 3 HORSES NAME 40 Race 4 HORSES NAME 10 Race 5 HORSES NAME 10 Race 6 HORSES NAME 10 Total Points used = 100 Thanks If anyone can think of a better format, maybe to include each way bets then let me know. Who wants in?
Bert Posted 14 March 2011 Posted 14 March 2011 I'm in for that. Sounds decent. I'll have to post mine up the night before.
Matt Posted 14 March 2011 Posted 14 March 2011 I'm in as like Bert will post selections the night before, as I will when placing bets. Just Sky Plused the whole weeks coverage so I can watch when I get home from work everyday
Bert Posted 14 March 2011 Posted 14 March 2011 Day 1 has seven races? We gonna do 7 tomorrow or just stick with 6?
Teeno Posted 14 March 2011 Posted 14 March 2011 I'm there for the whole week again, heading off early doors tomorrow morning! Can't wait, been a while since I've been this excited about Festival week. I agree with Ric, got a good feeling for Aiteen Thirtythree, managed to back it at 8/1, but got a feeling it will be a lot less on Wednesday!

Might be hard as I'm st college, but I'll do my best. Free £1 bet with ladbrokes from the sun, and £2 with William hill from the mirror. Might only be small, but it could be something for nothing! West with the wind is my big e/w fancy.
