Wycombe Fox Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 A top 3 placing for L'accordioniste will cover my bets for the day and a place for Premier Sagas will put me ahead by a smidgeon. Some good racing today.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 16 quid down so far. Tullamore dew could pretty much restore parity for me but the only way I'm going to finish up is if banjaxed girl does the business.
Wycombe Fox Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 Live Stream for last two races Damn! He just changed channel WTF?? Now he's turned back to 'At the Races' after the 4.40 race
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 Oooooooooooow, where did he come from - I though McCoy had made the day that much sweeter.
m00nie Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 templegate did well in the sun.. picked the last 4 winnners
Matt Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 FFS! Awful first day! Great Endeavour pissed me off big time! Although I'm feeling all of this is Déjà Vu...I hope. I remember sitting here this time last year and fearing the rest of the week after the first day but as the week went on I clawed it back slowly and on the last day made a decent profit for the week. I hope this year follows the same trend. Tbh first day of last year I made a much bigger loss on the first day but that was through putting a stupidly big bet on a 'dead cert'. Oh well, let's hope for a better day tomorrow.
City_4_Life Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 Had winners with Hurricane Fly and Quevega, also had a couple of each way places with Spirit Son and Tullamore Dew. Hopefully carry on the same through the week. Also well done to Ruby with a great hat-trick.
purpleronnie Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 Won 6 out of 7 bets, all to place though and played safe on most of them, but pretty happy, wish I had been a bit more confident I picked (but picked to place) the first 2 out of the 4.40 and a trifecta in the last. I don't want to think how much that would have made, Cant take much credit as I went on advice of others as I know nothing about horse racing, I reckon plenty of people have made ALOT more than me.

Agreed - my lucky 31 came in with three places and a win, which brought a modist result and overall I'm up but feel I missed out on Hurrican Flyer (that really did tumble in price) and Garde Champetre (went with a horse because of the name in that race, amateur's mistake). In addition, I'm only just starting my work on tomorrows races so don't really know what is in store. But hey, Cheltenham is tough, there's always so much to pick from and so often the big hyped horses let you down.
Ric Flair Posted 15 March 2011 Author Posted 15 March 2011 £40 down at the end of Day One. Appalling.

Despite my little slip-up earlier (I actually made my highest profit today on Captain Chris earlier ), I've been doing the same. Know jack all about horse racing, but I've decided to follow Clare Balding on Twitter til Friday Made £4.90 today, with that above win and 2 E/W.

Matt Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 Matt i've had a nightmare today and you've selected 4 that I fancy tomorrow too. You're doomed, I tell yer! Haha Haha, it'll be a good day tomorrow TBH I've not won today but i've not lost alot today, but feeling really down about it Think if I remember correctly I was the same last year though although I was out of work and lost £50+ after the first day last year so had some reason to feel down about it. I don't know I've picked those that i've listed and found it quite easy to jot those down (Unlike last night where I struggled to choose) but have questions over my selections. As I said last night I prefer to look at the papers and bet on the day but didn't think I could because i'm working and doing it on an iphone is do-able but takes time, but fuck it, gonna do that tomorrow. Can choose on the day and place bets throughout the day once I read more into them on the day.

Bert Posted 15 March 2011 Posted 15 March 2011 So we get £100 each day, but can we carry over our profit and bet that on the following days races? Adds a risk/reward factor? I think the money you have for each day just totals up after each day, you can only bet £100. Gonna have a good look later.
