Playoffs

We needed eight wins and probably a draw from ten.

Now we need seven wins and probably a draw from nine.

Scunthorpe are crap, yet we still rode our luck. Tougher tests are to come. Call me negative, but we have no chance.

Really??

Sounded to me like we controlled the whole game?

Forest and Swansea have both lost there recently!

I think it's important not to get too carried away after the Scunthorpe match. Well done lads on a good performance. As Sven said, we just need to focus on our own performances and see where it takes us.

It's important to keep some sort of continuity now on until the end of the season. So Sven keep with that same back five if possible!

I believe that 20 more points would get us there. It is essential we win every home game now until the season has finished.

It's on and today proofed that the teams above us aren't going to win every game. I stick with 75 points being enough to secure a playoff place.

After the Cardiff defeat I said 8 wins from 11... it then became 8 from 10, but now its 7 from 9

The required total doesn't change regardless of what happens around us... Can we get 7 from 9? Yes... Will we? It's one hell of a big ask, we're not going to be playing against a side in the bottom 3 every week.

Since his first game in charge on Oct 16th, Sven has suffered a staggering 8 defeats, compared to Watford & Norwich's 3, Leeds' 4, Portsmouth 5, and Swansea, Forest, Cardiff, Bristol City, Reading all on 6... On paper Sven has just suffered too many defeats, but stranger things have happened & often do happen in football.

Except O'Neill had had extensive previous experience of this league, and been involved in two promotion campaigns, while Sven hasn't.

The two scenarios are not comparable in any way, shape or form. Nor is the current squad anything like the quality of the 96 one.

BTW, in reference to your sig, Max moved to Leeds nearly 18 months ago. It's time you got over it.

lol

Just because your ovaries are hurting there's no need to take it out on other people!

Does a few games for Nowich = extensive experience?

If you want to talk about other leagues (you are as Wycombe were not a division one team), then I think Sven has decent experience of winning things.

I think its that time of month again

This of course is convieniently forgetting we have won more matches then most of them on there though.

Was literally just coming on here to post that. He didn't like me calling him Mr Negative a few months back, but he really doesn't help himself.

Whilst conveniently forgetting that turning just a couple of all those defeats into draws would mean we'd be a lot more comfortable than we are... yada yada yada, round in circles, rinse & repeat thumbsup.gif

And as for babylon, I can't have a conversation/debate/anything with someone who is so blind to obvious facts because there is so little light that far up Sven's arse

You can keep calling me a "Sven Bummer" or whatever you want. You don't seem to be able to differentiate between someone defending a manager / players against ridiculous comments (see your pathetic slating of Ricardo and Sven prior to Christmas), with someone who thinks he can do no wrong.

I'd love to know what facts i'm blind to exactly, because I take everything on board good and bad. You can choose to ignore my posts where I mention things like needing to turns wins into draws, wanting more permanent signings in the Jan window rather than so many loans, wanting him to give others a chance if players in the team aren't performing, wanting Weale in goal and numerous other things.

I'm not surprised they get lost, I tend to move on after making a point. You should perhaps take that on board a little bit yourself, because your constant whining about almost everything Sven does get a bit tedious. Before you start, i've seen half a dozen people say the same about you, so no need to make out like this is some personal vendetta.

To be fair you did start throwing in the odd comment of how he's done quite well, unfortunately they were more often than not surrounded by moan after moan about him. I can't say I was surprised that you were once again one of those at the front of all the critisism with your knife sharpened after the recent run of poor results. Although I thought you would maybe have learned not to go too over the top after he made your December rants look a little foolish. You going to blame the good run of form we had post Christmas on new manager syndrome to?

Quite funny that the man who says I don't look at facts is the one twisting facts to make the manager look bad. "Staggering" number of losses, without any mention of the staggering number of wins we must have also had to close on the teams at the top. Not to mention your "He's spent £11m on top of last years wages" rants, when the only thing that had been said was that the new owners had put that amount in.

Oh and one last thing whilst on about facts. Just lately you've been keen to post the league table showing results since Sven. You kept pointing out that we were only 7th overall. (conveniently forgetting to point out we were only 3 points from top space).

Not seen you posting it this weekend after we won and the teams above dropped points. Maybe you could post an updated version?

Perhaps maybe add in the Scunthorpe game after Sousas sacking as well. You yourself said new manager syndrome played a part in our form post Sousa, so with Sven in the crowd, in the tunnel and speaking to players... Surely he should get some credit being the new manager in waiting.

Yawn...

Your blind to even the fact that your blind, there is no reasoning or even healthy debating with you, therefore I have no desire to converse with you and this will be my final ever reply.

Anyone who offers any opinion different to your own, you jump down their throats and you always have done. Where it says mod, it probably should say internet bully seeing as you seem to like swinging your d1ck because you have a slight modicum of power on this board, much like a traffic warden patrolling the streets, or a hall monitor like you see in schools in american movies.

I accept you love Sven, everything about Sven, all of the signings, the fact he obviously can't coach for toffee, you love the short-termism - every single thing.

I could probably imagine you masturbating to the fact we've got a mini-run starting with Scunny against lower teams, just like our 5 consecutive wins in Jan, who if we manage to beat, you'll no doubt rush to create a thread just like this one after beating a poor bottom 3 side like Scunny, didn't see you rushing to create threads during our win-less streaks?

I have think Sven will be poor value unless he gets in the playoffs (not crap, but poor, please note the other thread where I said he's been good for us, which you'll probably ignore to try & further your point) any manager with near enough £11m to spend could have got us to mid-table! Playoffs will be my gauge of whether he's been a success.

One thing I do greatly dislike is the short-termism he's brought to the club, signing 48 defenders who still can't keep a clean sheet (aside from a crap Scunny team) has been bad for the club, when the time could have been put to better long term use coaching the players who were here & adding strength through a loan signing (like Naughton). Bolstering the squad with a couple of loan signings is shrewd management, but destroying it with too many because you can't coach & develop is bordering on unforgivable.

yada yada yada, and so on & on

Like I said... Yawn

Yeah I love having to merge threads, delete porn pictures, dealing with PM's from all and sundry. Makes me feel really big spending time trying to help Mark and the other mods run the place.

I accept you love Sven, everything about Sven, all of the signings, the fact he obviously can't coach for toffee, you love the short-termism - every single thing.

I guess you missed the joke... and the white writing in the first post. Wouldn't be the first thing you missed.

Mr factual he hasn't spent anywhere near £11, I think you should perhaps try adding up the figures before making comments like that. As for reaching the playoffs, your gauge on a manager is whether he has been able to do something no other manager has ever done and turn around a season after having so few points after 9 games?

One thing I do greatly dislike is the short-termism he's brought to the club, signing 48 defenders who still can't keep a clean sheet (aside from a crap Scunny team) has been bad for the club,

Once again only looking at it from a negative angle. What you fail to mention YET AGAIN is that since Sousas sacking we have only been outscored by Leeds. In that whole period only QPR and Swansea have a better goal difference.

destroying it with too many because you can't coach & develop is bordering on unforgivable.

Being a bit dramatic again aren't we.
