It's on and today proofed that the teams above us aren't going to win every game. I stick with 75 points being enough to secure a playoff place.

Hmmm, Don't want to get to carried away, although think this thread is more tounge in cheek to people like me.

Could go either way now, deep down I still think it's too much to ask but today certainly keeps us in with a chance.

Let's move on and focus on the next game, no time for getting over excited, keep your eyes on the prize.

i'm going to be the voice of reason - calm down, so we won one today - we are still 5 points off and our goal difference is so poor it in reality makes the deficit 6 points. Couple that with reading and watford being able to overtake us if they win their game in hand and the play-offs are still just about a mere dream.

Crunch games: -

Saturday, 9 April 2011 Leicester v Burnley, 15:00

Saturday, 16 April 2011 Reading v Leicester, 15:00

Friday, 22 April 2011 Nott'm Forest v Leicester, 17:15

Win all these then we defo have a great chance, assuming the results continue like today and prior to Cardiff. Taking 3 points off our nearest rivals has been our obvious downfall recently, but big praise is due considering the awful start we had. Things take time, if not then boy we're gonna be a great bet next season.

No need to be a voice of reason, it was a joke. Just wanted to air my WW "Game on!!!!".

It's still a tough ask obviously but the game is most definitely on. Especially when you look at the teams we have still to play.

I've never believed Forest and Leeds are good enough anyway. Play-offs will be us, Burnley and the Welsh.

We needed eight wins and probably a draw from ten.

Now we need seven wins and probably a draw from nine.

Scunthorpe are crap, yet we still rode our luck. Tougher tests are to come. Call me negative, but we have no chance.

dont want to be a doom and gloom merchant but sorry we arent going to make the play-offs - really hope im proved wrong though

Given that Forest and Leeds both didn't win games you'd expect them to it's been a decent day for us.

Need to keep winning.

Thanks for letting me know. Where did you find this out? Did you travel to the future or do you own a crystal ball?

Today's date is the 12th of March, the season ends on the 8th of May. There's a long way to go. We have 9 game and 27 points to play for and we're currently only 5 points away from 6th. Until it's mathematically impossible to reach the play off we're still in it.

I'd have loved it if the Internet existed in 1996 under O'Neill!

Except O'Neill had had extensive previous experience of this league, and been involved in two promotion campaigns, while Sven hasn't.

The two scenarios are not comparable in any way, shape or form. Nor is the current squad anything like the quality of the 96 one.

BTW, in reference to your sig, Max moved to Leeds nearly 18 months ago. It's time you got over it.

Bloody hell, where's that come from? I was merely stating I'd have loved to read the up's and down's from us fans back in '96 when we nibbled about the play-offs then thought we'd blown it, only to go on that stonking run at the end. It was almost too much to bare but fairytale stuff.

Thank you for your observation. I'll consider it.

Oh, back to the old: This league is so tough...:crylaugh:
