Is it too late to sign another player this season - the Loan deadline's coming up isn't it (though I guess, if he's a Free Agent he might be alright) ? Though acccording to Stringer he wasn't one of the 'stand out' players in the match. It's good Tunch got a nearly full match - we might see him this season / again !?

So happy to see Tunch back. For someone who's had a horrible injury, to complete 80 minutes is a feat but on top of that he played really well!

ACF Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Marrone plays for Melbourne Heart. Solid right back, missed only one game in the season, and we lost that game. I rate him as an top A-League player, not sure if he would make the grade here.

Doesn't anyone at our club realise that the single most important purpose of playing football is to score goals because, unless you score, you can't win. Yes, I'm stating the obvious. But it doesn't seem as if it's obvious to anyone in charge.

He also signed Vassell but how many goals have Vassell and Yakubu scored, or other potential attackers in our side like Abe, Waghorn and Wellens? This is not about who he's signed it's about how effective he, or his staff are, at getting them to open up defences and take chances. And right now we're mostly failing at both. The movement is gone, the pace has gone, the fast passing has gone, there is no-one getting around the back of defenders consistently and we rarely get enough people into the box in support. Oh yes and don't put sporting achievement forward as if people like Sven can do no wrong. Cos that is bullshit and I thought it was me supposed to be the idiot.

Entirely agree with Thracian here, during the Portsmouth game, we lacked movement across the middle and up front when we were attacking. the number of times that naughton picked up the ball wide and had no one running off their markers or into channels was unbelivable. At best, I can describe us as being "reactive" in our movement when we attack. Players like yakubu, (who does hold the ball up well!!) needs runners from midfield to lay the ball off to. Definately something that needs working on!
