Sol Bamba

He's less effective under pressure in his own box than when he has a clear run at the ball in midfield. So, yes I agree.

You can't do a lot when the delivery is good, from what I have seen of him he looks more than capable at this level.

Personally I prefer a touch of the Walshies about a centre-half, but I can see the benefits Bamba offers even if his sometimes too frequent poor decision making gives me kittens. eg. his positioning isn't great, he's frequently wrong side, he brings the ball down when it should be cleared etc. Although the latter is also one of his positives as well as a negative.

But overall he's capable at playing in the top half of this league.

He's capable at this level, but he needs someone to offset his flamboyancy, someone who'll just get rid of the ball if needed, Vitor or Tunch maybe - not Bruma as he's too similar to Bamba.

Hehe, no question in my mind that Sol is fragile, dont get me wrong, the guy is doing a brilliant job and is fabulous entertainment. But, to me he is always on the verge of a massive mistake or the edge of a total cock up, he seems to have got away with errors and misjudgements in the games ive seen and fortunately others have been there (in the main) to clean up.

Other people have talked of the lack of confidence in defence and whether its Weale or Ricardos fault... imo its more about Sol. But.. he is a great entertainer, offers a real threat at set pieces and makes defences nervous (both opposition and ours) so... if and when that cock up comes... ill just hide my head and hope someone is there to clean up :)

Considering his exuberance he hasn't made any real obvious mistakes like trying stepovers and getting tackled last minute :P but I love the way he plays football. Playing at LCB he's a lot less comfortable and his positioning isn't great and even though he gets the ball down he is still a centre half and his left foot is not great. Having him at RCB is best for everyone as we saw with his form when he partnered Mee when he joined. Expect to see him at RCB next season and for him to hit 10 goals :P love the man!

As far as boro's 3rd goal is concerned not allot that could the done! The guy really attacked it well, good powerful header, I agree with vitor starting!

I have to admit i'm probably one of the few that are still not convinced by him. I think the start to his Leicester career won a lot of people over instantaneously, but i'm not sure he's been a good enough defender since. He does bring other qualities to the team but the amount of goals we've conceded since he joined the team don't lie. Not all his fault at all, I just think he's part of an average defense and I wouldn't be upset if he got replaced in the summer by a better technical defender.

Myself I'd say his weakness is when someone is running at him with the ball, from the last couple of times I seen him (Cov and Norwich)

His style will always bring it's moments of panic, but generally I don't think he's suspect from set-pieces.

He'd be more suspect when going forward as one bad touch could take him out of the game and leave his partner in a tough situation.
