Left Sided Centre Back

Currently we only have one defender who can play left sided centre back. Ben Mee.

Whenever he doesn't play whoever plays in this position looks lost, and the team looks completely unbalanced.

For example.

Bamba @ Middlesborough - 3 goals conceded.

Bruma @ Reading - 3 goals conceded.

Mee vs Burnley - 0 goals conceded.

Mee vs Palace - 1 goal conceded

If Ben Mee isn't going to be here next season, we need to find someone who can play on the left side of defence. Bamba/Bruma just won't cut here.

At first I didn't think it was a major problem, but over the last few games without Mee, it has been proven this is a massive problem for us.

What about the games when Mee has played and we've still been shit at the back? Eg. Norwich.

Apart from his début which was his first professional 1st team game, he's been immense for us. Another dreadful decision at the back, but after the dropping of Vitor & now this, it's obvious we have to play the jonah or perhaps pay Chelsea... TBH I'd just take the hit on it & not play him again

played his first 90mins for the reserves two or three weeks ago

Mee is awesome. Tunch back would be ace, need good cover though

get tunch in there if he is fit enough.... a half fit tunch would do better than a fully fit bruma

With our season being over, this could almost be a pre season at the end of the season. If that makes sense.

I'd liek to see Tunch have a game if he is fit, perfect game time for him heading into the summer.

I agree, its obvious that Mee balances it up when he plays because he is a left footed left centre half. Can't wait to see Tunchev in this position again though when he returns because he is also in the same mould as Mee.

I do think the defence in general is a problem though, in the summer both full backs are returning back to London, as well as the immense Ben Mee and Bruma. Our goalkeepers are not solid and good either, we need a whole new defence in the summer.

At the minute though, Sven needs to stop tinckering about the defence. We didn't loose to Middlesbrough, Burnley or Crystal Palace. Yes we only got 5 points out of a possible 9 points but we didn't loose, so why change it unless its enforced? He needs to leave Mee in at left centre half for the remainder of the season because he gives us more balance!!

Back in proper training, completed a reserve game a couple of weeks ago (during the international break) - might be ready to make a return before the season is out (would only be 15-20 mins off the bench if anything).

Unfortunately he's out of contract this summer, all depends whether he's impressed sven enough to earn an extension - If fit though he's our best CB and fits nicely into the system we play.
