Kent Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 ONE RICHIE WELLENS. THERE'S ONLY ONE RICHIE WELLENS. ONE RICHIE WEEELLLENS THERE'S ONLY ONE RICHIE WELLENS
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 They were impressive with that at Craven Cottage last night.
BrummieFOX Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 App: 96 Goals: 5 Naaa. These songs should happen organically either in pubs or at the ground which is when they catch on best. Why constantly try and fit our players into other teams chants when it clearly doesn't fit and is a poor rip off.
Mad Dog Posted 10 May 2011 Author Posted 10 May 2011 Infectious song though. Use any player or any lyric, but I went along last night and it's still stuck in my head this morning. dada da da da
Heskey2011 Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 Does anyone remember the Babybird song your gorgeous? Could be sung at forest (as babybird are from notts) - Because you're _______ (insert player) we'd do anything for you, because you're ______(insert player) we know you get us through oooh ooh oh. ooooooh (actually maybe not, cant think of anyone who sounds a bit like gorgeous)
BrummieFOX Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 Because you're 'Naughton' would have fit. Ah well! Do like it though.
Braunyfox Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 No doubt this song will be sung, One thing I have noticed the last few years as a season ticket holder, Leicester Fans are very good at copying other teams. i.e Chants, standing and jumping with back to the pitch. CAN YOU PLEASE COME UP WITH SOMETHING ORIGINAL ........
sven-your-smiling Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 or for kyle naughton (if he signs) or yuki abe or martyn waghorn. would sound best as yuki song.

CAN YOU PLEASE COME UP WITH SOMETHING ORIGINAL ........ I wish we could as well. Easier said that done though. From what I've seen around the country in previous seasons very few club's fans do come up with anything original. The majority of chants sang started their life at Old Trafford, The Emirates, Anfield, Goodison and so on.

But yea, large majority of chants come from United (away fans) and Liverpool. As I think I said earlier in the thread, the best chants happen organically either at away games or in the pub and they tend to happen when your team are either winning or playing really well. United have had years and years of strolling away games 3 or 4-0 which gives them a lot of time to come up with funny, witty or original chants. I think some of our best support over the last decade or so was when we were in League One. Some brilliant away days there with great atmosphere and some hilarious songs. That's because we were winning every week and everyone was in a good mood and up for singing whatever. When we're drawing 0-0 at home to Doncaster, we'd rather ****ing boo than start singing a new chant.

Fox92 Posted 11 May 2011 Posted 11 May 2011 I like the song 'one Richie Wellens' but not many people sing it. It is always overshadowed by Bamba's and King's songs.
Corky Posted 11 May 2011 Posted 11 May 2011 It is always overshadowed by Bamba's and King's songs. And the slating of Yakubu.

Highbury and The Emirates are one of the few Premiership grounds I've never visited. I'd love 'em in the 3rd Round of the Cup. It's been a long time since they came to The Walkers as well. Think I just assumed they'd have a vociferous following due to their size.

Because no one else sings that do they!!! What's wrong with taking a song that sounds good (like the maxi/heartbeat) & making it our own FFS!! Liverpool weren't the first to sing a song to that tune anyway.... If it sounds good & gets the players going why not go with it???
AKCJ Posted 11 May 2011 Posted 11 May 2011 It fits for Patrick, Patrick Van aanholt **** off back to Chelsea.
Fox92 Posted 11 May 2011 Posted 11 May 2011 Yeah.... Because no one else sings that do they!!! What are you on about? I said 'not many people sing it' not nobody at all.
mickydeeeuk Posted 11 May 2011 Posted 11 May 2011 I'm on about people on here clasifying a song as not original & therefore should not be sung or adapted.... Do you understand what I'm trying to say now?
m00nie Posted 11 May 2011 Posted 11 May 2011 I'm on about people on here clasifying a song as not original & therefore should not be sung or adapted.... Do you understand what I'm trying to say now? you saying you dont mind if we sound like every other club up and down the country singing the same tunes over and over...
mickydeeeuk Posted 11 May 2011 Posted 11 May 2011 I think I am!! What's the big deal??? We've got when you're smiling etc. What's the problem??? The reason fans sing these songs is because they sound good, are fun & encourage the team, I really don't understand this desperate need to be 'different' .... Maybe we should sit in silence so as not to offend the people that are so offended by chants that are similar to chants fans of other teams sing, or perhaps you could come up with some fabulous catchy tune & hand out hymn sheets so everyone knows the words.... No? Thought not!

No? Thought not! so how does something like "this place is a shithole" encourage the team ?? thats more about the banter, but when you hear the same tune on every game shown on FLS it kinda gets boring and defeats the object of fun.. Hymn sheets? , you do realise these great copied songs originated from somewhere by people trying new things..
