BlueSi13 Posted 10 June 2011 Posted 10 June 2011 Martinez signs extended contract at Wigan after turning down Villa Shocking decision by Martinez, Pathetic Athletic look great odds for the drop next season (they make the Premier League look untidy anyway), he was lucky as **** results went his way this season as it is. Pretty humiliating for Aston Villa in all honesty.
BlueSi13 Posted 10 June 2011 Posted 10 June 2011 Saw a rumour this morning, in the Guardian Rumour Mill, that Man Utd were going to sign Samir Nasri for £12m. Roughly what Arsenal paid for him, a despite vast improvements and an brilliant season last year his price hasn't risen. Crazy. Makes the Henderson fee look even more ridiculous now. His fee hasn't risen as his contract runs out next season so Arsenal will have to sell this summer if they want to re-coup anything from him. The guy was easily worth a lot more than that this season just gone. This will be a devastating loss for Arsenal, doubly so if Fabregas finally leaves as expected.
FoxyPV Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 Shocking decision by Martinez, Pathetic Athletic look great odds for the drop next season (they make the Premier League look untidy anyway), he was lucky as **** results went his way this season as it is. Pretty humiliating for Aston Villa in all honesty. I thought it was madness too and a slap in the face for Villa but He's no doubt guaranteed his career at Wigan regardless of them being relegated. I wonder what really put him off Villa.
StanSP Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 http://www.teamtalk.co.za/premier-league/6982951/Grayson-subject-of-Villa-gamble Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is the subject of a huge gamble to become the new manager of Aston Villa. Grayson, who made almost 50 appearances for the Villans between 1997 and 1999, has seen his odds slashed from 25/1 to just 5/2 with SkyBet to take over in the Villa hot-seat. The Leeds manager won promotion back into the Championship in 2009-10 and guided the Whites to a seventh-placed finish last season and after a sustained flurry of money on Saturday, the 41-year-old is now one of the favourites for the job. Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has already turned down the chance to succeed Gerard Houllier at Villa Park in a repayment of loyalty to the Latics. And former England boss Steve McClaren, another manager on the short-list, has also snubbed a return to English football with the Midlands club. Sky Bet football trader Joe Petyt said: "Grayson seems like an unlikely choice for Villa but he fits the 'young and aspirational' criteria that they're looking for having done well at both Blackpool and Leeds. "Ken Bates would be reluctant to let his man leave but the lure of the Premier League could prove too good for Grayson to turn down."
Samilktray Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 Villa is a pointless job, there never gonna get top 4.
The Doctor Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Villa is a pointless job, there never gonna get top 4. By that logic every prem job apart from the big four, man city & possibly spurs is a pointless job.
