wellyfox Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 OH MY WORD!! WHAT!?!?! Ken Bates is a bit mental!!! Kasper didn't want to leave so what the hell is he on about!?!!? QUOTE: "KEN BATES has blasted keeper Kasper Schmeichel for using Leeds as a stepping stone. The son of Manchester United legend Peter, 24, quit in a £1.5million switch to Leicester this week. But Elland Road chief Bates, who hopes to land ex-Liverpool keeper Jerzy Dudek, 38, as a replacement said: "I don't see Kasper as any great loss. "We decided there's no point keeping a player who's using us as a stepping stone to move on." Prap's we should send Ken a thank you card. KS should be well up for 2 games this yr
sdb Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 It was a brilliant one-handed save and shows exactly what he's capable of at his best. You even compare it to one of the greatest ever save, so you have to admit it was slightly reminiscent. And parried shots into the area is getting more common everywhere, which I believe is largely due to the new engineered footballs being implemented into the game. Besides, I'd rather have a keeper save/palm a ball into the area than not get to the ball at all!! Someone else previously compared it to Banks, that's why I mentioned it. Banks' was down low, way faster and he put it out of play (which is what was so remarkable about it). I'm not saying this save isn't decent, but it's not the wonder save others seem to be seeing. Did they score? Yeah 3 times.
Narborough_fox Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Banks' save wasn't all that. As Harald Schumacer said if he was positioned in the right place it would of been an easy save down low to his right but because he wasn't positioned right it made it loom 10x better than it should of been. No doubting it was a fantastic save but he should never of had to make it if he was in the right position.
Corky Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 "We decided there's no point keeping a player who's using us as a stepping stone to move on." With high frequency, Kenneth.

Surely by that logic you could argue most save's are made to look 10x better just because the keeper isn't directly behind the ball?
millzi Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 He is a free agent. Free being the opreative word. Bates need the 1 mil for Kasper. A good free agent keeper might get the fans off his back and he has less of his own money to invest in to the squad. I have no doubt that Leeds will go with a free agent keeper, weather it is Dudek or not. I wasn't on about for Leeds, someone suggested we should have got Dudek for us instead of Kasper
MikeyT Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Here Chris, this is what you do when the ball is kicked at you
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Ken Bates antics are another reason why Leeds away last game has the potential to be superb.
