Criggers Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 I've just seen on Sky that Leeds have been linked with Jerzey Dudek after his release from Real Madrid. Do you get the feeling Leeds are just trying to sign names? Much like a lot of us were scared of before we got in to the summer. Dudek > Kasper????

He's 38 years bleedin' old for starters, as compared to Kasper who is 24, I know which I'd take based on that alone.
Christoph Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Never. He's 38 years bleedin' old for starters, as compared to Kasper who is 24, I know which I'd take based on that alone. Age really isnt that much of a big deal when your a goal keeper, just look at Brad Friedel or van der sar
Austin Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Age really isnt that much of a big deal when your a goal keeper, just look at Brad Friedel or van der sar Good point, but Dudek isn't fit to lace either of those boots .. He is Shit.
Houdini Logic Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 being a bit picking, but he palmed it straight back into danger! I'm not so sure tbh. Easily within reach and he palms it straight back into the danger zone...a nasty habit of his. Actually I thought what he done with the ball was quite special - rather than palming it back out in front of him to the feet of the opposition player, he lobs it into the air and gives himself enough time to stand up and compose himself and easily collects the ball.
millzi Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Age really isnt that much of a big deal when your a goal keeper, just look at Brad Friedel or van der sar Look at Van Der Sar..who retired at 40, yeah, so Dudek has 2 seasons left in him. I'd much rather Kasper who if you are going by that method has 16 seasons left, hmmmm and is also the better keeper.
Guest Bilo Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Dudek? Known primarily for saving penalties in a final that took place six years ago, and has done next to sod all since. We've definitely got the better end of the deal.
shen Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Dudek is better than Kasper Schmeicel. A Scouse is bound to say that though
ScouseFox Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 A Scouse is bound to say that though If Schmeicel goes all spaghetti legged to win us the play off final, he'll move above Jerzy. Or if he does this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEwcj81nX5k
Haydos Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Look at Van Der Sar..who retired at 40, yeah, so Dudek has 2 seasons left in him. I'd much rather Kasper who if you are going by that method has 16 seasons left, hmmmm and is also the better keeper. Van Der Sar was twice the player Dudek was.
AmyLGK Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 OH MY WORD!! WHAT!?!?! Ken Bates is a bit mental!!! Kasper didn't want to leave so what the hell is he on about!?!!? QUOTE: "KEN BATES has blasted keeper Kasper Schmeichel for using Leeds as a stepping stone. The son of Manchester United legend Peter, 24, quit in a £1.5million switch to Leicester this week. But Elland Road chief Bates, who hopes to land ex-Liverpool keeper Jerzy Dudek, 38, as a replacement said: "I don't see Kasper as any great loss. "We decided there's no point keeping a player who's using us as a stepping stone to move on."
sdb Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 You 2 have to be kidding me, no offence but he's got no right to be making that save at all let alone tip it over the bar. He's not only saving it from around 6 yards he's diving backwards just to be saving the ball. The rebound doesn't do any harm he saves the follow up and nothing comes to it. Stop being so pedantic and see how good a save it really was. No way. That save was not as good as it looked. Certainly not Bank's style, jeez. Nowhere near. KS palms balls back into the area a lot. Not a good trait.

Poakey Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 He really is a top class cvnt. Despise the man. Theres some livid leeds fans on the comments below on that Sun link, imagine that **** being in control of your club!

Guest Bilo Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Ken Bates is now and always has been an utter fvcking prat. The thought of what it would be like if he were in charge of our club makes me physically sick.
Jace Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 if i was a leeds fan i wouldnt be too impressed if the chairman referred to the club as a 'stepping stone' up to leicester...
shen Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 No way. That save was not as good as it looked. Certainly not Bank's style, jeez. Nowhere near. KS palms balls back into the area a lot. Not a good trait. It was a brilliant one-handed save and shows exactly what he's capable of at his best. You even compare it to one of the greatest ever save, so you have to admit it was slightly reminiscent. And parried shots into the area is getting more common everywhere, which I believe is largely due to the new engineered footballs being implemented into the game. Besides, I'd rather have a keeper save/palm a ball into the area than not get to the ball at all!!

MPH Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 No way. That save was not as good as it looked. Certainly not Bank's style, jeez. Nowhere near. KS palms balls back into the area a lot. Not a good trait. umm... Its not actually always physically possible for someone to save the ball AND divert it too the side. you also run the risk of diverting the ball into your own net if you dont angle your hand properly. Especially if the ball is in anyway behind you. at 0.7 of a second notice. You should just admire the save.
millzi Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Van Der Sar was twice the player Dudek was. I never said otherwise..? I wasn't even the one that brought VDS into all this
Hack Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Never. He's 38 years bleedin' old for starters, as compared to Kasper who is 24, I know which I'd take based on that alone. He is a free agent. Free being the opreative word. Bates need the 1 mil for Kasper. A good free agent keeper might get the fans off his back and he has less of his own money to invest in to the squad. I have no doubt that Leeds will go with a free agent keeper, weather it is Dudek or not.
blueredswed Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 I have seen kasper save penalties both in MAN. City and Notts county and he is my goalkeeper in Ch-league. Now it is up to the defence to do the rest! (And they will)!
