Liamlcfc1 Posted 27 June 2011 Posted 27 June 2011 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2382527,00.html Leicester City have today (Monday) completed the signing of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel from Leeds United for an undisclosed fee. Kasper has agreed terms on a three-year contract with the Foxes and becomes the Club's second new acquisition of the day, following the arrival of midfielder Neil Danns. A Denmark Under-21 international and one of the Football League's most promising young goalkeepers, Schmeichel heads to Filbert Way for a third spell under Sven-Goran Eriksson, having previously worked with the Foxes boss at both Manchester City and Notts County. Article continues Advertisement City Football Director Andrew Neville said: "Sven knows Kasper extremely well and regards him very highly so we are delighted to have brought him to the Club. "He has already made a big impression both domestically and internationally and is another player at a good age for our long-term objectives." Schmeichel, 24, joins City after a year at Elland Road, where he made 40 appearances last season following a free transfer from Notts County in May 2010. Son of Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel, Kasper came up through the ranks at United's rivals City, making 10 first team appearances as well as enjoying loan spells with the likes of Bury, Cardiff City and Coventry City. With first team opportunities limited at the City of Manchester Stadium, Kasper was taken to Notts County by Eriksson in August 2009. His performances during the following campaign saw him named in the PFA League 2 Team of the Year as the Magpies won the league title and were subsequently promoted to League 1. Out of contract and in extremely high demand, the young Dane joined Leeds at the end of that season and was quickly installed as United's number one. His move to City makes him the Foxes' third summer signing, following the arrivals of defender Lee Peltier and midfielder Danns
Nick Posted 27 June 2011 Posted 27 June 2011 I would normally say 'premature' however Liam, on this occasion I think maybe you deserve this thread.

Ric Flair Posted 27 June 2011 Posted 27 June 2011 An experienced defender is going to be crucial next season. Schmeichel is a stunning shot stopper but he's still not the finished article when it comes to organising his defence and that's why we need a warrior at the back who can lead by example. Bougherra would be a dream but not sure that's likely.
cc_star Posted 27 June 2011 Posted 27 June 2011 Cause 63 pages on the Transfers board just isn't enough, lets have another whole thread

Mate who's an arsenal fan said that when they played leeds in the cup the thing that impressed him the most about KS, apart from keeping leeds in the game, was his ability to organise the defence and the fact he didn't shut up bellowing at them all game.
ozleicester Posted 27 June 2011 Posted 27 June 2011 Says he is having a medical... i thought he was out of the country?
