Topman Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 I know a few friends from Japan, they asked if Abe has scored any free kicks yet, I said no because he hasn't even took one yet, they seem surprised as he is well known for his expertise on free kicks, reckon he just don't have the confidence to tell Waghorn or Gallagher he wants a go? I want to see him at least have a go at it, seen some stunning free kicks he scored on YouTube

When asked why Yuki doesn't practise with them, Paul responded with something like this: "We have asked Yuki to join us but he chooses not to" I think it's more of a personal issue with Yuki's confidence at the mo. Based on last season’s performance, he doesn't seem to like taking many shots at goal. I think this is something Sven needs to address in training because I think he might do a pretty good job at set pieces.

I actually think Abe is being very professional... taking free kicks, for his own development and adaptation to life as a professional footballer in England, is low down on the list of priorities. I think he just wants to adapt to life in England and focus on adapting before he thinks of anything else...

Couldn't agree more think Yuki will be a big, big player this season, he has taken a season to adapt to the pace of the game/new lifestyle etc now he is ready to unleash on the championship!

Bizarre, Abe is playing well, and getting better. If he is that good without being confident, keep him in the team because when he is confident he will be fantastic.

Abe needs to man up. huh? no one said it was about confidence but about focus, he doesnt want to spend time practising free kicks... he just wants to focus on adapting to the english game imho

That volley away to Scunny rattling the bar, as well as that pile driver at home to Man City. Love that part of the DVD 20 odd thousand screaming 'shooooot' and the sound of the crowd as Hart saves it!
