Filthy Fox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 I think if we don't get Maynard, Sven will be happy for Nugent to play the main striker, and so would I. potentially yes, but we could do with another strong striker to give him a break every now and then, we don't want another andy king burn out at the end of the season.
Happy Fox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 http://twitter.com/#!/Scottwilsonecho Leicester are the latest club to make contact with #Boro about Leroy Lita. Lower division than Swansea, but could offer higher wages.

Agreed. I think you raise an important point. I'm sure Sven wants a 22 man squad so that players can be rested whenever they show signs of fatigue, or even just have a couple of bad games. Also, we will get through most injuries or suspensions unscathed. I think our big squad with depth will be a huge advantage over most other clubs in the division, especially towards the end of the season when our competition might well start looking tired.
bluebloodedfox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 hi guys i have a source thats saying leroy lita will only be bought into the club if waghorn is used in the maynard deal on a perm. Sven wants waghorn for the future so will only send him out on loan, bristol are reluctantly agreeing after they're suggestion to get waghorn perminately was declined and with maynard becoming frustrated about not knowing where his future lies as of yet, a deal is to be agreed over the weekend willing to share all that i know.

irDeano Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Swansea City are pleased to confirm that personal terms with Middlesbrough striker Leroy Lita have now been agreed. The clubs agreed a fee of £1.75m earlier in the week and Swans chairman Huw Jenkins was delighted to confirm this afternoon that personal terms have also been agreed following discussions with Leroy and his agent. "Myself and Brendan (Rodgers) are delighted to come to an agreement with Leroy,'' declared Huw. "As I have said previously, Leroy was one of the manager's main targets when he arrived in Swansea a year ago.'' http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/0,,10354~2405007,00.html

I like the sound of this but with no source and 1 post to your name i'm not going to take it to the bank. Waggy on loan and Maynard would be a lovely option. At least it gives waggy a chance to get some game time and get back in here if he finds his form
NeilyBoy Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/0,,10354~2405007,00.html Dodged a bullet there imo. Glad to see the Swans are keen to swap leagues asap

Raw Dykes Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Dodged a bullet there imo. Glad to see the Swans are keen to swap leagues asap I couldn't agree more. I can't tell you how relieved I am that talk of us getting Lita is over. Maybe Swansea realise that the only way anyone's going to remember their 15 minutes of fame is to make sure they get in the record books by getting fewer points than Direby's measly 11 in 2007/08. Spend millions on a player who is sure to disrupt the dressing room with his dickhead attitude. Good move.
