David Guiza Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 As a few people have mentioned he's been on the downward sloap for years now, ever since his big move to Liverpool didn't work out he's been like Owen without the injuries. However that said, that was in the Premier League so I think it's more than likely he could bag them in for fun in this division.
danny_foxes Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Why don't you want to see Mellor running around the field. We have to put up with Chubby Michael Ball, why not have two burger boys in the side. Cuz mellor is awful, and ball won't be playing much next year I don't think.
m00nie Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 So you're suggesting that if we were to sign Maynard or Long we'd dispose of them IF we're promoted? possibly yes.. or they would slip down the pecking order from a new proven premiership striker.. do you think IF promotoed then we will keep the same team ??
Guest Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 How old is Keane now ? Let's just say that his blade is not so keane. Definite downward trend.
Guest Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 He was a success at Celtic ! It's not so hard to be a success in the SPL is it?
rico Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 It's not so hard to be a success in the SPL is it? it must be the equivalent of this league surely?
accessory Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 No I wouldn't i'd rather have a player with years ahead of him like Maynard or Long, but I fully expected you to post back with a standard Foxestalk reply™ He wasn't entirely useless for spurs no, but he's definitely on the decline. Crap players do not score 50+ international goals. Keane would be a class above any other striker at our club or in our league.

Guest Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Crap players do not score 50+ international goals. Keane would be a class above any other striker at our club or in our league. You're talking about during his career. Everybody would agree that a young Keane at his best would be brilliant for us (but then he wouldn't come). Keane hasn't done much recently. How many goals did he score last season?
accessory Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 it must be the equivalent of this league surely? Ask Craig Levein or Kris Boyd. It isn't.
Danno Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Half time entertainment in the shape of a former X factor contestant. Will be Joe McElderry He should sing at Brighton
Austin Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 What the hell is the 'Standard Foxestalk Reply' WAGGORN MATTEH FRYUTT HUME talk. So many people post something related to them whenever there's an opinion on here thats different.
Guest Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 it is but seriously Rangers and Celtic would not be sure of being the two automatic promoted teams. they are used to just a handful of competitive matches a season not one every week. Some of the teams in the SPL would have difficulty staying in the top half of Division 2 (as in old div 4).
accessory Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 You're talking about during his career. Everybody would agree that a young Keane at his best would be brilliant for us (but then he wouldn't come). Keane hasn't done much recently. How many goals did he score last season? Still scoring freely at international level. His record there is one most European strikers would envy. If fit he would score 30+ for us in the Championship.
Austin Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Crap players do not score 50+ international goals. Keane would be a class above any other striker at our club or in our league. at NO point did I say he was crap? I'm well aware of his international record, I just stated that I didn't think he was the answer. The last few seasons he's looked nowhere near as interested as he did with his first spell at Tottenham.
Austin Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 possibly yes.. or they would slip down the pecking order from a new proven premiership striker.. do you think IF promotoed then we will keep the same team ?? No I don't but the signings we've already made haven't signed 3 year contracts to possibly win us promotion and be ****ed off somewhere else .. ?
accessory Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 WAGGORN MATTEH FRYUTT HUME talk. So many people post something related to them whenever there's an opinion on here thats different. You forgot HOWUD. And even Kermorgant is being defended by people on here..

If fit he would score 30+ for us in the Championship. Shame we don't have teams like N Ireland, Scotland and Macedonia in the division. He was very good, he's not so good now and he's getting worse. Maybe he'd do a job for us this season and I'm happy to sign him but he's no 8.5m player and he certainly isn't a better option than several others we've been linked with.
Austin Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 You forgot HOWUD. And even Kermorgantis being defended by people on here.. Kermo was decent. another FT standard reply™

The last few seasons he's looked nowhere near as interested as he did with his first spell at Tottenham. Possibly because he doesn't figure in Redknapp's plans. He could still do a job for a manager who trusts and rates him. Trappatoni would want him to play regular first-team football in order to keep him sharp for Republic of Ireland games. Signing Keane would be a statement of intent by Top and Sven, not just for this season but for others that follow.
phillo Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 great international not that good for clubs should bang um in , in this league
