Tielemans63 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 True, although apparently Longy said he'd only go to a Premier League team or West Spam. I'd be happy with either to be honest. ****, I'd be happy with anyone who looked like he could find the net regularly!
Matt Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Keane > Long. Long > Maynard. (I know this is a Keane thread and not a Maynard thread just can't work out why everyone was happy to splash the cash on Maynard but not on Long). But yeah Keane > Long.
The Doctor Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Eurosport reckon Spurs have offered cash plus Bentley OR Keane. So let's hope they go for their old boy. I can't understand why people think Keane wouldn't be that committed because he's getting on a wee bit. Why would he be any less committed than Shane Long? I'm sure neither dreamt of playing for City when they were growing up! For who?
Brainy Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Long > Maynard. (I know this is a Keane thread and not a Maynard thread just can't work out why everyone was happy to splash the cash on Maynard but not on Long). But yeah Keane > Long. Probably because Maynard has had a couple of good years now for BC and had a good goals to game ratio last season despite being injured for most of it. 7.5m for Long is ridiculous, it doesnt matter how much money we seem to have. Chances are we're going to be going up this season, why waste a few million more than whats required on one player when we could get somebody of similar quality for less and need to be making sure we have money to spend when we get to the PL.
Jaspa Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Keane has been shite since he went back to Spurs from Pool, showing the odd glimmer in internationals. At club level on a downward spiral, and thats exactly what were not after. We only enquired because he was available, like Hargreaves. Were after young talent inches away from their potential, itching to be unleashed onto premier back lines. I dont think Sven us serious about him either
themotivator Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 i dont care what anybody says. that celebration is the gayest thing i've ever seen.
berniethebolt Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Fan fc.com reporting that they believe we have approached tottenham to ebquire about him. 4 million is what they say.
Happy Fox Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Just did an interview now saying he isn't interested in dropping to the championship

stix Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Keane has just stated on SSN that with no disrespect to the championship, he would sign for a prem club first and that no championship club has enquired about his services.
lrs80 Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 just been on ssn keane wont be coming 2 championship he said so himself
blueredswed Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Keane has just stated on SSN that with no disrespect to the championship, he would sign for a prem club first and that no championship club has enquired about his services. And why this? Noone in prem want him and now he is for sale in CCC
stix Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 And why this? Noone in prem want him and now he is for sale in CCC CCC=NPC
yorkie1999 Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Keane is on his way out of spurs because they've just signed italian hotshot Grabatelli
Tielemans63 Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Grabatelli? Wasn't he out and about in Croydon last night? As for Keane, surely if no prem club comes in for him then he'll consider a Champ club over Spurs reserves?
stix Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Grabatelli? Wasn't he out and about in Croydon last night? As for Keane, surely if no prem club comes in for him then he'll consider a Champ club over Spurs reserves? possibly, but there are a whole host of clubs abroad that would be more appealling TO HIM than clubs in the championsip i feel.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 hmm I think Sven will try get him but knowing our luck West Brom will find out we want him and then they will bid for him
BourneFox90 Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 News coming out of the sky sports transfer centre today. Robbie Keane insists he is willing to leave London and has refused to rule out a move to the Championship. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7090941,00.html could he be tempted to leicester? will sven make a move for him or will his wages be a stumbling block? personally i think he is our most realistic and top possible target out there, plus in the championship a guaranteed 20+ goalscorer, maybe even more!
Burmesefox Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Just cause he hasnt cut he mustard recently doesnt mean he cant with us. He's a hard working player with a lot of self respect and I think he would score 20 for us in a season. besides, played well for the Tics!
Nick Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Just cause he hasnt cut he mustard recently doesnt mean he cant with us. He's a hard working player with a lot of self respect and I think he would score 20 for us in a season. besides, played well for the Tics! I'd be amazed if a Prem team doesn't want him - we would have to do something wagetastic to get him here.
One Arm Babba Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 I would have thought Keane would demand more money than the yak?
STUHILL Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Would love him here! I think he would score 20 goals for us as our main striker and playing week in week out. Worth 4 million too. Like he said though, he would always choose the Prem over the Championship so teams like Stoke, Wigan and even Swansea and Norwich probably ahead of us and I think he will get snapped up.
