bluebeau Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 IF Keane was to come to City I'm sure it would be on a loan agreement with Spurs, 'cos then they would probably be paying part of his wages. Keane must be on a fairly high salary which would put him above any of our players, & that seems to have been the reason why we have not been able to bring in The yak, as it would have contravened the wages structure. IMO he will not be coming to City, my money would be on Long or Maynard.
Ian pcp Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I believe that Robbie Keane still has at least 2 premieship seasons left in him, therefore I doubt very much that he would wish to drop to the championship at this point in time. If he's going anywhere it would be QPR on a loan deal.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 As much as Robbie Keane would be an astonishing signing, how would his type of play fit in with the shape we're trying to play?
NeilyBoy Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Genuinely wouldn't want the guy - he only shows up for internationals.
Tielemans63 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Can't see Keane dropping down to the champ - I would imagine he sees himself as a proven prem player. However, if we did get him it would be like having The Yak only with added pace and work rate - I'm certain he'd get us 20+ goals. Although Cardiff fans prob said the same about Bellamy!

Would Sven be interested in Bellamy?, imo , any thoughts,he proved himself pretty well in the champ, although maybe his hamstrings may not last the whole season
Raw Dykes Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Would Sven be interested in Bellamy?, imo , any thoughts,he proved himself pretty well in the champ, although maybe his hamstrings may not last the whole season I dunno. I think he's a good player, especially in this division, but he is clearly a monumental ****, and I think we might be better off without that sort of player in the dressing room. Whilst he played well for Cardiff last season, he hardly set the world alight, either. Not for me, thanks.

Happy Fox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Developments in the Robbie Keane saga one of the ITKs off spurscommunity has posted this on Robbie Keane http://spurscommunity.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=76733 Who: Rebrab Where: SC When: 31st July Quote: 2 clubs in for Keano with bids that we would deem acceptable (but not officially accepted yet). Looks like it will be up to him to discuss terms and see where he wants to move. No idea what clubs they are, I'm sure somebody else will know! Once he's out and a couple of midfielders get nearer to an exit, hopefully there'll be some motion in the ocean! Could one of the clubs be us
topharry123 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Would love to have Keane here, great player. Maybe not been as good recently but once again remember we are a Championship club not a PL club and this kind of player would be incredible for someone like us.

Happy Fox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 So it looks like the spurs community post that I posted was correct then, this will be a permanent on the information from spurs community before fourth official
cc_star Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Interesting Has obviously been a quality player, would be a quality signing for anyone below halfway in the Prem
Tielemans63 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Would be great at this level - I'm sure he'd get 20+ goals even after a couple of lean years in the Prem. I'd be surprised if there were no lower half Prem clubs interested.

Happy Fox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 It has nothing about us in it I based it on the assumption that we were linked with him and when that post came on spurs community, I jumped to the conclusion that one of the clubs would be us that bid for him
Tielemans63 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 I liked Yak and would have him back in a flash but I reckon Robbie Keane is a better all-round player. More pace, higher work rate, nicer accent.....
thybluefox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Honestly not sure about him....would prefer Maynard/Long.
