Jaspa Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 You'd drop the Captain after one bad game??? He looked off in pre-season, went abit mental vs RM, not all there against Cov, scored an OG against Rotherham, and looked completely shite against Reading. But no way should we drop him, Sven should encourage him somehow and if that don't work get Faz out to test his eardrums He'l come good I'm sure of that
buzzy Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 That's why I said 'exeptional' u **** I meen that I don't expect us to be at full speed untill then, for now I'd be happy with a win here and there. Like we are doing like to win here and there? so how many games would you like to win before november because losing to teams at home is not on and that does no good for a promotion charge
Jaspa Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 like to win here and there? so how many games would you like to win before november because losing to teams at home is not on and that does no good for a promotion charge Like to pick bones eh? You must understand c'mon, wasn't expecting to hit the ground running with so many arivals. Nd to your question. As many as posible
dpjfox Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 In recent seasons promoted teams from div1 have done well as the team core is predominently the same and winning mentality intact, im not making excuses but we have the biggest turnover of players(virually a new team), once we settle im still optomistic
dave the caveman Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Even now, in chasing a centre-forward ,it's a case of anyone will do from what's available rather than really picking out someone who really suits and wants to come here. It's not really though, is it, because if it was a case of anyone will do then we would already have someone. We've had all summer and haven't got our man. That suggests to me not that anyone will do, but the opposite - noone will do. Quite how you've justified taking a situation where we've not signed anyone and painting a picture of us signing anyone and everyone I don't know. But this is classic foxestalk: one loss, and it's DISCONTENT, MERCENARIES, TAILSPIN!
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Some of you may have read or remember my posts in the transfer rumour section through the summer, relaying info from an Irish site where a poster called The Doc sporadically contributes on the career of Sean St Ledger, with unerring accuracy, and predicted the move to Leicester, and the price and timing of it well before any other media had that detail available. Its widely accepted on this Irish site that this guy is Sean St Ledger, or someone very much in his camp as the information is always ahead of the game and bang on the money. He has now posted this in the last 24 hours, its post #469 and the bit particularly relating to Leicester is as follows: ''As for Leicester, maybe it was implied to St Ledger that he would start, when he signed and that someone hasnt kept their word. Think St Ledger will be looking to move if he isnt playing 1st team football in the next few weeks as he wont let anything affect his International career'' Not the best news, now is it. What if Maynard tips up tonight all motivated and wins the game for Bristol, and Forest with their own ex England manager and a couple players we probably passed on do the same on Saturday. Its on a knife edge already kids. It could all tailspin very easily. Facinitating times directly ahead. Lots of "maybes, what ifs,and supposition" ! Rumour mongering or what ?

John Matrix Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 wouldn't surprise me. definitely needs to be handled well.
evs_the_fox Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 So it's possible that St. Ledger isn't happy because he hasn't walked straight in to the side? Good. You're not at Posh or Preston now, show us you're worth a starting place. If you're not then be sure the door doesn't hit you on the way out in January. I was underwhelmed by his signing anyway. And as for discontent... :crylaugh: :crylaugh: Get a grip!
Guest Col city fan Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 He joined knowing we had a biggish squad? Why moan about it now? Fight for your place man like everyone else this season!
Raj Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 A bit of discontent is good in the squad. Why would any player be happy being on the bench? Good...mardy bastard!
Sk4 Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 There is discontent in the team it was there for all to see on saturday , after only 10 minutes players were arguing a lot of finger pointing and blaming , mainly wellens , bamba then schmichael having his rant mills blaming everybody else when he passed the ball to a Reading player , hope they dont do it tonight I will be watching very closely
Vardinhio Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 To be honest he has one of the hardest roles in the squad. He is not going to get in ahead of Bamba and £5.5m Matty Mills. It must feel fustrating for him as Mills in nearly undroppable, especially with the captaincy and Bamba is much better than him.
accessory Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 SSL had his chance and we've all seen what he did with it. A little humility may be in order in future. Maybe his next game should be at Bury to see how he copes with Ryan Lowe. The Championship is clearly beyond him at the moment.

Maybe his next game should be at Bury to see how he copes with Ryan Lowe. The Championship is clearly beyond him at the moment. You are unbelievable. He made one mistake. It was a complete howler. It probably cost us the game. But to write him off because of it? You absolute cretin.
Basil Brush Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 i wonder about the harmony with the big wage players arriving, it must piss off some of the old guard, it would me. It would be ok if we were playing well and winngin, but we are not and dont look likly to any time soon. Sven has to sort it, i just wish we brought in a striker earlier
Conscript Fox Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 Well well, how bang on the money was Ol Conscripts OP there kids? Maybe now the doubting ****** amongst you will listen. St Ledger talks Sven into dropping the 5 million captain, gives a strong message about Svennis no? And he duly costs Leicester the game. Maynard does Leicester up the wrong un all night long and can even afford to miss a spot kick in doing so. I told you all this was going to happen. Forest next.
Basil Brush Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Forest next. ... Right now i would take a boring 0-0, give Sven some time to see who is playing for the shirt and who is here just to pick up his £20k per week. My worry is Sven has promised more than 11 players first team football and quickly there will be upset players, and rightly so they are here to play. Sven is one cold B***rd, I think this is where his finess pays dividends, he's managed top players. I do wonder ab9out the owners and what they think......... If I had just thrown a few million of 12 into the wages I would want, no i would DEMAND to see at least 100% on the pitch, the fans need to see this too, and more importantly the playing staff. If Sven loses the dressing room because of a few big time charlies not being able to play it will be very sad, I hope the younger players can just accpet football for what it is and dont worry about money, and the ones on big bucks set a bloody example, this is no time for skerking duties here
