accessory Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 What about Mark Hughes? Ian Rush? Iwan Roberts? Hughes and Rush emerged in the 80s. As for Iwan, one half-decent Premier season doesn't quite cut it..
Tielemans63 Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 As for Iwan, one half-decent Premier season doesn't quite cut it.. You do realise that I wasn't being serious don't you?
One Arm Babba Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I'm a big Beckham fan to be honest. Great player and a good role model. Gianfranco Zola and Pavel Nedved were close seconds.
AyewJoking Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 Ronaldo (fat brazilian, not the gay portugese)
Reynard Bleu Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 Of all the wonderful, gifted players I have seen TV and live, I have to settle on George Best. They may be others thats scored more, better headers/tacklers/shooters, etc. But as a young lad in the 60's and 70's George was the complete package to me. Not just in terms of skill and ability, but the whole fame thing. He was a working class bloke, a rebel, arrogant, liked the ladies and the booze. At the time he was unique. He could change the course of a game on his own. To me he exemplified everything I dreamed of, except the overdoing it bit and drinking himself to death.
Alexikokopops Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 Eboue. The man is superb value. 17 seconds in
SystonFox Posted 8 October 2011 Posted 8 October 2011 For me it has to be beckham or Michael Owen. Scorers of two of England's finest goals in the modern era (vs Greece and freekick and vs Argentina France '98 respectively) Also as mentioned both are good role models and legends at clubs they have played for.
