You make some sooper posts mate, some of the best on here IMO

You also post some turd too...

I said near the start of the season that you come across as a frustrated manager and nothing you've posted since makes me think otherwise

The problem I have with you at present Thrac is that you seem to be so down on the club and anything that it might be trying to do to improve... Because you 'know better' all the time.

I was with you on Sven as you know, but I won't be with you if you continue to knock anyone else or anything else that we may try to do.

I want Hughes as the next boss and with him I reckon we'll have a tough boss to sort this mess out. He'll get my full backing as would anyone else we may get..

I'd like to see more of the informative, intelligent, POSITIVE Thrac that we used to see, rather than someone who genuinely believes he could be the next manager..

Cos that's how you're coming across just now

lol imagine not having the backing of Col City, Thrac.

He's just another Beckford, Nick! :D

I was trying to be positive with you Thrac and your reply was silly, as you know.. Unlike you to be fair

This the same Neil Lennon currently leading Celtic to 3rd in a two-horse race? And some of us thought Sven was under-achieving..

Not being helped when his players i.e Hooper and Kayal who look disinterested.

I am down - it damn well hurts to see us scoring constant own goals at a time when our whole set-up should be bristling with confidence and belief.

And I was referring to Sven not signing enough superstars rather than who might become manager. Watching Beckford is hard enough without the thought of the Thais forcing more so-called stars upon us. I actually don't give a shit who's manager anymore. Apart from MON or OGS the decision probably won't please me whatever.

The board have only got themselves to blame - by dithering so long they just encourage the papers to take the p*ss by just making up names of prospective candidates. For them not to have anyone lined up BEFORE they sacked Sven shows them to be naive in the ways of the football elite. The real top clubs just don't work like this.

You and about a few thousand others Thrac...

It don't mean that the new boss or bosses ain't gonna improve things does it?

We can still go up, no problem in my mind

Well the last 10 years worth haven't so I'm not getting my hopes up. As for going up it's not the stats of whether it's possible that I doubt it's whether we'll somehow do things better in the future. We're like alcoholics. Our problems are clear to see but unless we admit to them we're never going to put 'em right.

I'm bored of this "..... has no experience in this league" nonsense.

How does anyone ever get the chance to gain experience? Whichever league it is, in whatever country it is, the rules of the game are the same. We still play with the same amount of players, formations that are successful in other leagues can also work here and we still get three points if we score more goals that the opposition.

Does everyone want some manager who can only ever manage at this level and chokes whenever they get promoted. What experience did MON have in this league when he took over here? Half a season with Norwich? What about when we got promoted? He'd never managed in the Prem but seemed to cope quite well. Even when he went to Scotland, it was all new to him. MON may have been something different but we didn't know what was going to happen in the future during that game against Sheff Utd for example.

We might be overlooking up an d coming young managers who may turn out to be fantastic whilst we look at people who have made no impact in any other division that this.

Agreed!!!

Why over-complicate things? Why throw unnecessary obstacles in the way of what could be a successful candidate? I don't believe "Championship experience" is the be all and end all.

Most of us would gladly welcome back MON in an instant, but he has little championship experience, he spent very little time on the training ground & it was a long time ago too!! Arguments I have heard used against many of the names being mentioned. All candidates will have their pro & cons, but I don't understand why so much emphasis is being put on Championship experience?

I would place more importance on personality, tactical awareness & motivational skills. I'm sure we have all worked for a manager who has vast experience in his job, but lacking in personality, organisation & inter-personal skills. Experience is not the most important factor.

There are many examples of managers going on to be successes in leagues they have no previous experience of.

How can you say that the 'Pearson years' didn't improve things?

Promotion, followed by play offs in consecutive seasons..

He picked us up at our lowest ebb and hauled us up kicking and fighting into a respectful position?

Why was this not positive for the club

A new manager could come in and do exactly the same thing.

You do seem to be on such a major downer.

Cheer up mate.. I ain't being patronising in saying this but this could be a very exciting time for the club.. If you allow it to be

Step up Hughes...

Thinking about it would Walter Smith take a short term contract?

SPL titles mean jack.

He was mediocre at best during his time at Everton and is unlkely to be any better in the championship.

We've been in much worse positions than we are now.

For better or for worse............it's certainly exciting!!

If Mark Hughes had expressed even the slightest interest, don't you think he'd have been snapped up by now?

The longer this saga drags on, the greater the danger that the board will make a disastrous choice like Mandaric did with Holloway in 07-08.

I was basing this on yet another report on Hughes speaking with our people last night.....

I share your view on appointing the wrong person.

I think the next appt is one of the most important one for many a year.

Because our target all along has been to get into the Premiership and Pearson fell short just as others did. Promotion from Divison One doesn't come into it - we should never have dropped that low in the first place. But getting into the play-offs doesn't win you anything and it was clear wtth our approach that we'd never score the goals necessary for a top two place. In other words the bloke was too cautious.

I'm feeling down because we seem to have become flash without any substance, because we spent the close season talking about signing this footballer and that footballer without any apparent purpose or any sense of what we were trying to put together.

We behaved like children in a toystore at Christmas and even now we seem to have no philosophy, no real strategy for achieving our ends.

Despite all our spending we've continued to have major weaknesses and limitations and have continued trying to fit round peas into square holes with the same consequence as has always been the case.

It upsets me because we have all the resources we need. What we don't seem to have is the wisdom to use them. And not having someone lined up to replace Sven only emphasises how easily we handicap ourselves by our own actions. Just the same as not using wingers or not having strikers in by the start of the season etc. etc.

The owners can't win, if they'd have made an appointment by now they would have been accused of rushing into decisions to quickly and going behind Svens back and on the other hand people are accusing them of dithering around and making another mistake like Holloway!

It's amazing how we always find something to moan about, the club can't do right!

Who ever we appoint, when ever we appoint them should get all of our backing because we are LCFC fans but I guarantee as soon as it's announced there will be some moaners!

What worries me most is the "not bringing in star names" part

What do you expect we are in the championship when we reach the prem they will come in their droves.

I do agree with you on all this and apologise for my earlier remark, which was uncalled for.

I reckon the right manager can turn this all around Thrac.. we have a squad of good players, money to spend and a massive fanbase

All is not lost at all.. I commend the owners for taking positive action, although I remain surprised that no-one appears to be lined-up

Thats bizarre IMO

Keep yer chin up pal
