simular post to wot i did on de vries sayin he can be a bad player if he can perform the way he did at charlton. stewart is anouther player who has show quality for example his long range effort at wimbledon and dribbling round 3 or 4 man city players before launchin it into the top corner from about 25 yards. that one didn't even make goal of the month by the way. also he has pace and skill and i reckon the levein factor will turn him into a better player. also i think the best we have seen of the guy is in central midfield. when he used to go into that roll.

We're all guilty of this but you should really read back your work before posting, it might make more sense.

Apart from that, like a lot of City players the main thing they lack is consistency, until they get that it doesn't matter where they play.

Im not sure about Stewart. Sometimes he can have some really good games and then suddenly switch and become useless. His main problem is his attitude. He can get really arrogant when he does well and tries to take on everyone and then gets himself into trouble. He also tries too much fancy stuff.

Also, i have noticed that when we are losing he gets very frustrated easily and then he wont bother. It also depends on where he plays. He gets a lot of freedom when playin left mid and i think thats where his best comes out. When he plays left back, u see him wanting to push forward as much as possible and forgets his defensive duties.

However, there is no doubt he has talent and if guided properly and he can control the immaturity then we have a good player.

With a bit more effort he could become one of our better players but I don't think he wants it that much. I think he reached a comfort zone last season. No real competition for his place, 2 years left on his contract, early twenties and money's no problem for him. He's now in the last year of his contract, Sheehan, Tiatto and Wilcox in competition down the left side and he's facing a third season in the second tier of English football in the face if him and his team mates don't perform next season. I expect to see a better Jordan next season but how good he will be is the big question.

Posted

He has a blatantly stinking attitude, if he got better and this is very unlikely he would probably jump ship as soon as poss to some London club where he could go chinawhites every night. His body language on the pitch is also quite negative, as people have said before he is not a footballer he's just an athlete.

He's not someone that would get into an O'Neill team put it that way, and that's what we want.

Agree with the Cat Burglar on this one. To be honest he's had a fair few years here and i've seen no vast improvement or will to improve, he played for his contract under Adams, he got it and then he couldnt give a shit, he hasnt the quality to be a left back or left winger in any higher division and to be honest if we sold him and got an adequate replacement I wouldn't miss him.

I wonder whether Maybury is on higher wages than Stew Pot?? It's interesting, it probably wouldn't be as difficult to get another player like Maybury for the left side it seems, for a reasonable price...But yes, a striker is the main concern at the minute.

He has talent but his attitude lets him down big time. If he could sort that out then i think he could have a few good years here.

Well, apparently Maybury played at leftback a lot under Levein at Hearts, I'd like to see Stearman on the right, and Maybury on the left. Both pacey, and can score goals.

He got into a scuffle in a nightclub the other week, a friend of the family apparently pushed him over after Stewart refused to let him by and Jordan kept saying "Do you know who I am?"

If you ask me, Jordan Stewart is a big-headed t**t with talent but no proper attitude.

Get rid of him!

A great big IF given the time he's been here.

Makes sense both on the field and to the accountant.

Stewart might fetch a few bob while Stearman would get a genuine chance to develop both his reputation and value. Brownie points too for the Academy. Logic: Stearman appears to have a chance of going somewhere while Stewart appears to have reached his final destination football wise.

Although Maybury can play leftback, I prefer at him rightback. He looks more comfortable getting forward down the right flank, where he takes on players and goes on the outside to get crosses in. On the left side, he has the inevitable problem where he's cutting inside continuously, which slows down the pace of attacks.

I think we should play Tiatto at left back because IMO he isn't good enough (skillful or pacey) to be a winger and sign a decent left winger

I wouldn't. Maybury played several games at leftback for us last season if you remember... his flaws were accentuated in that position and he couldn't get forward so its unlikely he'd score goals from that position.

I have said throughout last season I would like to see the back of Stewart. He is an arrogant individual who tried to hold the Club to ransom over his contract, MA gave in, rightly or wrongly.

For me he is a waste of a salary on a player who would play for the shirt. He has been poor more than he has been good. As a fullback you look for a player to be consistent. Maybury would get a 7 every week in the media for his performance. Stewart would get 5-6-7-6-5-5-7 which means he is a liability.

He has ability but his over (self) massaged ego will never allow him to be a proper player.

Rumours are Burnley are in for him, get money for him I say. He wasn't good enough to keep us in the Premiership why would he be good enough now?

I think he's a good player, ok, his crossing is crap, but last season, how many times did we get caught at the back until Jordan came across and made a saving tackle?

Ok, he isnt a midfeilder, but his defending has improved, and i hope he stays.

Finally, hes a player who thrives on confidence, and it doesnt help when people are on his back saying his useless, so why dont we get behind him and the rest of the team?

I remember Maybs scoring twice last season for us and both times he was playing on the left side when he scored. Although I prefer him at right back too saying he doesn't get forward as much when playing at left back isn't true.

I agree with Louise - I certainly didn't think he got forward as much down the left. Just because he scored the two goals from that position, that shouldn't leave you under the illusion that he got forward as much.

She also said 'its unlikely he'd score goals from that position'. He scored more goals whilst playing at left back than he did at right back, not that goals are a very important factor where full-backs are concerned anyway.

I'd agree with Scowy and Louise too - Maybury may have scored twice at left back, but he looked nowhere near as comfortable going forward in that position. He also got skinned quite often at left back (even though it shouldn't really make a difference whether he plays LB or RB) whereas he looked much more solid and confident at right back.
