Kilworthfox 164 Posted 5 December 2011 Report Share Posted 5 December 2011 (edited) There does not appear to be a thread for this genre, for favourite tracks new or old, etc... Edited 5 December 2011 by Kilworthfox

Adster 1,594 Posted 5 December 2011 Report Share Posted 5 December 2011 Can't say I'm a massive fan of this genre. But I am partial to a bit of Will Smith, Enimem and Pitbull.
General Smuts 1,597 Posted 5 December 2011 Report Share Posted 5 December 2011 Been updating this sporadically as and when I remember more songs from my youth. Old school rap and new stuff in aSpotify Playlist. Enjoy. It's a little OFWGKTA centric but hopefully is a half decent mix of older and newer stuff.
The Doctor 6,358 Posted 5 December 2011 Report Share Posted 5 December 2011 Can't say I'm a massive fan of this genre. But I am partial to a bit of Will Smith, Enimem and Pitbull. I'm not either but of all the decent musicians in this genre, you rate Pitbull?
Adster 1,594 Posted 5 December 2011 Report Share Posted 5 December 2011 I'm not either but of all the decent musicians in this genre, you rate Pitbull? Yeah mate i've no idea why. You've probably noticed my Avatar is Pitbull and has been for a long time. Whilst I know he has a tendency to say 'dale' in every line and most his lyrics make no sense what so ever. I just like his music...

Langston 1,921 Posted 6 December 2011 Report Share Posted 6 December 2011 (edited) Just going to throw a few random favourites out there, no idea what category it falls under - because I can't get to sleep for the life of me and it's something to pass time before I'm inevitably far too tired to wake up for work tomorrow. Most of these are from my younger days, to be honest: - Jurassic 5 - A Tribe Called Quest - Dilated Peoples - Blackalicious - The Pharcyde - Hieroglyphics - De La Soul - The Roots - Slum Village - Blu - Kendrick Lamar - Elzhi - People Under the Stairs If anyone could open to me to any British music of similar sound I'm all ears. BrummieFOX 532 Posted 6 December 2011 Report Share Posted 6 December 2011 The Left - Melody. This whole album (Gas Mask) is pretty stunning largely due to some brilliant production from Apollo Brown. Melody is probably the standout track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQJ124oGpog&feature=related

Langston 1,921 Posted 8 December 2011 Report Share Posted 8 December 2011 That Jamie Foxx track - as well as the Trey Songz efforts, etc, are surely more R'n'B or pop records?

BoneDog 1,049 Posted 15 December 2011 Report Share Posted 15 December 2011 I wasn't a gangster but I did once win a civilised fist-fight outside a chip shop sometime in the 90's so I used to play music like this in my bedroom or in a mates Astra and reminisce of the glory days.
