Charl91 Posted 4 January 2012 Posted 4 January 2012 anyone noticed clubs he manages never seem to cope without him when he leaves? Villa faded into nothingness, We went down a devision, even Celtic aren't as good as they were. He's not a long term solution for anyone, if you want to get to a successful place then maybe, but worrying for the teams prospects when he eventually goes. Perhaps, but I guess it just shows that he was causing players to over-achieve, which is hardly his fault. Unless he's just leaving them with lots of debt
Antonio85 Posted 30 March 2013 Author Posted 30 March 2013 Right who on here wants to hold their hands up for their comments on this thread?! haha in all fairness I was delighted when he got Martin. He had a great CV. Nothing about us has resembled a Martin O' Neill team. He managed different clubs but they always had qualities that ran parallel. He put a stamp on his teams. At Sunderland, it was totally unrecognizable. Our club is destined to struggle no matter how much money we spend, who we sign etc. If we go down I hope you can sneak into playoffs to replace us. Nevermind.
FantasticMrFox Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Who are you honestly going to get who is better? I know you are on a poor run, but you are surely safe from the big R.....

Antonio85 Posted 30 March 2013 Author Posted 30 March 2013 We are knee deep in the brown stuff! I honestly don't know who we're going to get.
Tom17LCFC Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Shame it didn't work out for him, never minded Sunderland really, hope you get back on track and pull away from relegation!
Corky Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Aahhh - bring back Martin - bye Nige Bring back Martin? Who failed in his last job? Like you keep telling us Pearson did at Hull? Why would you want a man who failed at another club at our club?
ADK Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Bruce was "crap" at Sunderland but hasn't done so badly this season.
seenitall Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Bring back Martin? Who failed in his last job? Like you keep telling us Pearson did at Hull? Why would you want a man who failed at another club at our club? No one can love Nige enough to say that surely. If you can bum the life out of a man who only has one leuge one promotion to his name, what will you do to a God like St Martin?

I don't love Nige, I was just asking why you've spent 18 months telling us that Pearson failed in his previous job and shouldn't be here, yet are quite happy to take back someone who, er, failed in his previous job.
Antonio85 Posted 30 March 2013 Author Posted 30 March 2013 Messi would but crap at sunderland. Cursed.

Didn't get as long as Nige to turn it around = not fair comparison, either at Hull season and a half or here same. Plus his success versus being average ratio is distinctly higher I don't love Nige, I was just asking why you've spent 18 months telling us that Pearson failed in his previous job and shouldn't be here, yet are quite happy to take back someone who, er, failed in his previous job. Bet i cant do that again
Corky Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 Thanks for that, I take it you've got no real reason so I'll hope we get in someone who has done well at his previous job (shame Adkins isn't available, would've liked him) when Pearson goes (probably next week) and we can get promoted out of this wretched division. Sadly, I don't think Pearson can do it, nor O'Neill.
Vardinhio Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 mods do we really need 2 mon threads? sort it out.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 30 March 2013 Posted 30 March 2013 We are knee deep in the brown stuff! I honestly don't know who we're going to get. Good luck for the rest of the season Please Martin O'God come back to Leicester
deejdeej Posted 31 March 2013 Posted 31 March 2013 I like sunderland, good club and a shame O'neill didnt work for them. Bring the guy back if possible! If forest call Davies god for getting them into the playoffs, there are no words that can describe martin's legacy here.
