Sperical and Col, ease up, it is the season of good will and all that.......... :xmaswink:

We all know that we are up to our necks in doo-doo and it has been clear for several weeks that NFP is not interested in doing anything about it until the January window.

We have no ideas of his restructuring plans, if any, but either there is one hell of a plan in place or the rest of the season is going to be a joke, and we are going to be the butt of it....... :(

So for the time being I am going to confine myself to sarky comments and the occassional amusing jibe, though assuming it continues to 'go tits up' I might have to find a new vocation........

I am seriously considering that of 'Grammar Nazi'....... :xmasohmy:

With my spelling, that might even be quite amusing...... :dunno:

No need for me to 'lighten-up' Dave mi old mate... every so often Spherical pipes up with a bit of paranoia 'out of the blue' as he always has done. It is done to start a fight, or so it seems.

Rarely do I respond to his comments cos I don't want to scrap

Anyway, YOU need to cheer up again you miserable bugger.... let me guess..the cause of your current dispondency...Wellens?

I've actually gone through despondency and emerged, relatively unscathed on the other side.......

I am now totally convinced that what is going on is one of the following three options.......

1) NFP has a plan in place to totally restructure the side in january leading to a great second half of the season and promotion via the playoffs.

2) NFP has convinced the owners that this season is a write off and to let him start rebuilding for a serious promotion attempt next season.

3) Wellens and his cronies have formed an emotional and spiritual 'black hole' at the center of the team that is draining the life and energy out of everyone involved. NFP has already been drawn in and is already beyond the event horizon.

At the moment I am mostly drawn to 3), next month might just possibly change my mind....... :fc:

Haha, number three seems too likely to comfortable right now. I've just been talking about concentrating on fast pass-and-move football and I just don't see how Wellens would compliment that.

Sven football .... I don't think we'll see any of that for a while.

Well, as the ball is drawn into the hole it will gain in mass, this making it far more difficult to move quickly. In fact the closer the ball gets to the center of the hole (Wellens) the slower it moves.

First law of black holes....... when you are in one, stop passing the ball........ :xmascool:

Sven football .... I don't think we'll see any of that for a while.

Sadly, I'm inclined to think you might be right. And yet Sven got so close at times to formulating a team that provided a reasonable basis for moving forward.

A couple of fast forwards (winger and centre-forward) plus an effective creator - all "items" he should have purchased in the summer - and he might well have been in business.

Now, when I see the likes of Mills reviving the distributive gospel according to Wayne Brown, Wellens giving his impression of Policeman Plod at his Retirement Ball and Beckford putting the word "missing" into the concept of link-up play, I feel that we've run headlong into a creative cul-de-sac.

What, I wonder, do our coaches say on a Monday morning when their team has hardly had a shot as a result of their efforts on the training ground the previous week? Or when a visiting goalkeeper hardly has a shot to save or the crowd a decent move to cheer?

Do they donate their wages to charity? Do they feel ashamed. Do they actually question their own philosophies? Cos I would.

The single most important job of a coach is to have all his charges playing at with such a high level of confidence, effort and self-belief that they hardly recognise themselves.

But on Saturday only three of our players (Konchesky, Bamba and Kasper) gave anything like that impression. That's not to say any of them were at their best. Just that they were trying to be.

That the others fell way short is totally unacceptable. Especially when playing at home in front of 27,000 fans and when those same players have showed themselves capable of beating or competing with all the best teams in the current Championship.

Of course we need new players. But we also need to get the ones we've got playing properly again.

I agree with all of that ..... I think Sven was a bit of seasoning away from the right recipe ..... now we are back to cracking eggs .... And I'm not sure the chef will give us anything other than a mediocre functional meal... Ok I'll leave that analogy now!!

After Donny I was hoping for the reaction that was talked about - it wasn't good enough we'll put things right were the noises .... even before the game - if a player is playing poorly he'll get dropped ..... I don't want to keep banging the Wellens drum - but is NFP the only person that can't see he's a big problem???

Quite what they are saying on a monday or any other day is beyond me ... We don't just look like we have porr players in poor form, but we look like a team without ANY plan ..... completely blunt going forward and disorganised defending, and lets face it, nothing in between those two departments.

I think this is as flat as I've ever felt as a Leicester fan - and i was in the Kop watching Pleat's side with 7000 in the ground.

Getting back to King, I don't get to see many games so when I do I like to watch the closest thing we have to a local lad, and on Boxing Day he came on looked lively and did something which hadn't happened in the first half and moved the ball quickly, a couple of times he received the ball on the edge of the Ipswich box first touch was to pass it to someone close by then move in to the box, but the recipient was so slow on the ball, Wellens was guilty once and Gally the other time, that the ball never got out of their feet and the chance was lost.

To appreciate King, don't look just at King's passing watch what he does after he has passed the ball, he is not a spray the ball around player, like Wellens, nor is he going to take people on and run at them or whip in crosses, when we have the ball he gets in space receives it passes quickly then moves in to a better position.

The problem when we have the ball is that he will pass it and move and the ball will be slowed down and he will get picked up, or it will be hit long to our wide players who are crap in the air, or up to our front players by passing the midfield.

King soon "disappeared" after a bright start either because he was continuously by passed or got fed up of getting in to good positions and being ignored, it is demoralising getting in to good positions and being ignored for an aimless long ball. This is in part King's fault he needs to be more assertive in the game and want the ball more he like others need to adapt to survive. He is also probably guilty of being a nice guy on the pitch and not a dominant personality in the dressing room, and maybe it is time for him to be dropped, not because of his lack of ability but because he is not exerting any influence on the game because of the way we play.

You must have been at a different match to me, he never passes forward, he is always pointing to other players to pick up a man but stands yards off himself, he feints to go into a tackle but never does, he never gets injured because he never gets stuck in

Absolutely spot on. He is no longer a luxury we can afford as he no longer scores goals to warrant a place in the side. He along with a few others needs weeding out or farming out as he is never going to make a prem player and if that is where we won't to go it has to be with out him.

King needs to play in a midfield 3 as does Wellens, neither player has the physical presence to play

in a 2. I know I might be bucking the trend as most seem to feel we should play with 2 wide men but

I would rather see us play with one quality wide player who had pace and could deliver a cross from

both wings.

At the moment we don't have the personel to play 2 in the middle, neither do we have the quality wide

player to allow us to play 3 in the middle. Lets hope this can be resolved in Jan, then IMO we will

see an improvement in both King and Wellens.

King manages to get into a Welsh team who England were lucky to beat a few weeks ago.

King when not doing the running of BOTH cms would still be a good player and chip in with plenty of goals, he's polaying badly but he's not the big problem with our midfield

Sorry

But I didn't see him in the starting line up for the last 3 matches

I would be surprised if neither Wellens or King starts tomorrow.. Most probably Wellens and Abe again.

Would be a joke if Abe was dropped.

Thought he was our best player last game.

Today's team is disjointed. There's no flow. No cohesion. No understanding. No rapport. No collective spirit.

And there's your answer.

Next question?
